Saturdays are wonderful family days! This last Saturday was perfect, and the whole neighborhood was out. Spring is a great time to get all sorts of odd jobs done. Isn’t it fantastic to soak up the warm sunshine once again?
Dad was trying to save an old printer. It was a very intricate operation. Unfortunately, the patient didn’t recover. We tried almost everything, and sometimes it works: sometimes it doesn’t.
“I will praise the Lord according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the Lord most high.” Psalms 7:17
Okay, y’all have to understand we {{dearly}} love our little nieces and nephew, and their funny antics add a sparkle to life. The almost two-year-olds sometimes get stuck on something, meaning events are a big deal and the story is often repeated. For example, Joshua watched the last tree being cut down, and his big thing was talking about the tree going “kaboom.”
Well, since this was such a big hit with Joshua, Dad had a great idea for him to help with another tree we needed to take down.
Tuesday, late afternoon, all the Maxwell grandchildren gathered to watch. Notice the progression in the pictures, and maybe you’ll figure out how we did it.

Grandpa had to do some prep work first. Getting Joshua ready for the big event.
Joshua is holding thin twine for his rope to pull the tree over in the right direction. Makes a little guy feel real powerful!
Kaboom! Good job, Joshua!
The girls are taking a “selfie.” If there are more little nieces to add to the mix, I think Anna’s going to need an arm extender to fit them all in. Christina and I. The little girls came inside, and suddenly, Bethany was rushing around the house, collecting stools, so they could help Aunt Mary. Aunt Mary now had three eager helpers ;).
“Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.” Isaiah 50:10
Life has slowed down some with the new book being done. Dad and Mom invested much time and effort into Buying a House Debt-Free, and a number of us also helped out. We’re excited to pick up the books from the printer early in the week. I’m dreaming Moodys again, and Book #9’s outline is in the final stage. Lord willing, I’ll be writing very soon. If any of you Moody readers have ideas for things you’d like to see in future books, I’d love to hear from you.
It is also delightful to see spring emerging, with buds appearing on the trees, grass becoming greener, and some days feeling warmer.
I’m grateful for every day the Lord gives to serve Him. No matter where the Lord has us in life, He always has opportunities to minister. It could be something as simple as an encouraging card you send to a fellow believer, bringing a meal to someone who needs it, or having neighbors over for dinner. May we each be busy about what Jesus wants us to do.
Treasure each moment! Here are random photos from the last two weeks.
Love, Sarah
Sometimes one has to be creative, and we needed a picture to go along with the March Corner, so Anna helped me out. Christina watching Grandpa grill. The little girls were so excited to each give Ruthanne a gift. It’s time we introduce you to Chickie Mama. We’ll do a special post on her and her chickens another time. The aunts and Grandma went to see the new additions.
Joshua enjoying his little ‘sis. A shade tree was dying and the power company took it down before it fell on the power line.
“I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.” Psalms 104:33
For those of you who have small businesses, you know what the end of year means: inventory, making any necessary year-end purchases, holding a corporate meeting, going over financials–among other things. Inventory was never my favorite part of the task, but it was something that had to be done. As our product lineup has increased, so has the time it takes to do inventory. In 2012, however, and again in 2013, Dad and Mom successfully tackled inventory, along with entering discrepancies into our financial software. They make an awesome team!

“The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.” Psalms 16:5
To begin our Christmas celebrations, we decided to do family projects on Monday, the 23rd. Our first project was to polish the cabinets at our house. Not very exciting, you might think? Well, we had a blast talking and laughing as we worked. I thought it would take us awhile, but we did the entire kitchen, which has a lot of cabinet surface area, in about thirty-five minutes. Fast progress!
After that, we girls dropped in at Melanie’s to clean their house. Each of the aunts got a helper (three aunties and three nieces!). Bethany was mine for awhile, and I enjoyed her enthusiasm. At one point, she was squirting the side of the bath tub and wiping it off. In her sweet voice, she asked me, “Do you like to clean with little children?” (Of course I told her I did.) So precious.
The afternoon’s project was to work at Joseph’s house. We cleaned, polished cabinets, installed shelving, painted, and hung temporary blinds. When we were through with that, we girls got busy with Christmas baking for the next day.
Many hands equal the Maxwell team!
