Back to the day before Joseph and Elissa’s wedding.
It was hard to believe we were practicing for the real wedding. One thing with rehearsals is that often a lot of time is spent trying to figure out all the little details. Joseph, Elissa, the dads, and the wedding coordinator worked through most of those ahead of time, which was perfect. A special thank you to Christopher and his helper for the pictures that you’ll see now and in the wedding day photos.
“The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord.” Proverbs 16:1
Our two families were soon joined with our sweet friends CJ and JD from Idaho and also the C. family. They all were a tremendous blessing. The C. family headed up and served the rehearsal dinner while CJ made all the beautiful sunflower cupcakes and decorated them.
Before we left Kansas, Mary and John, with help from the C. family, picked several buckets of sunflowers, and we carefully carried them with us from home for the rehearsal dinner. Mary was the decorator for the rehearsal dinner and the C. girls helped so much with that as well.
I cannot begin to tell you how cute a couple and how perfectly matched Joseph and Elissa are! We have been so anxiously awaiting their wedding. I just love to watch the two of them and how their love has blossomed.
Friday morning, we made quite a parade as we drove to the church with just about all the cars available from our family and Elissa’s family filled with wedding things. When we arrived, Joseph and Elissa had a list of the jobs that were needing to get done, and we all set to work.
The first task was to get everything unloaded from the cars. We all love being busy.
It sure was a busy morning as one project was done, and sometimes before you were finished with it, someone was looking for you, requesting help.
We set about cleaning chairs, rearranging things, decorating with tulle and lights, putting on the pew bows, setting up sound, decorating for the rehearsal dinner, cooking for the rehearsal dinner, and the list could go on. There was a special air of excitement as everyone flew around and finished their tasks.
Part 2 next up!
