An Invitation: Walk Through Bethlehem

I said I’d share more on the music practice later, so here I am. Below you’ll find part of the reason :).

This weekend, December 6th and 7th, Joseph, John, Anna, Jesse, and Mary will be doing Christmas music and giving testimonies. Friday and Saturday evenings, they’ll be sharing from 6:30-7:15 p.m. and 7:30-8:15 p.m.

A church in town hosts a “Walk Through Bethlehem” for three evenings during the Christmas season. Tours are given, and while people wait for their tour, they sit in the sanctuary, listening to live Christmas music. My family will be doing that music for an hour and half, Friday and Saturday evenings, for those who come and are waiting for their turn to go through “Bethlehem.”

The last two years, we had the opportunity to go through “Bethlehem” before their music time began, and it was an amazing experience. Church of the Open Door does a great job of portraying what Bethlehem might have been like when Jesus was born.

It is open to the public, and we invite you to stop in. The actual dates are Friday (6:00-10:00 p.m.), Saturday, and Sunday evenings (5:00-10:00 p.m.). If you would like to hear my brothers and sisters, they will be doing music Friday and Saturday evenings at the times listed at the beginning of the post.

If you live in the Kansas City area, the Church of the Open Door would be about a 45 minute drive.

The church’s address is:

Church of the Open Door
4800 South 20th St. Trafficway
Leavenworth, KS  66048

I’ll include some pictures I took last year. We hope to see some of you there, and please, introduce yourselves. You’ll find me in the back of the sanctuary.

they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death,
upon them hath the light shined.”

Working At Joseph’s House

Life is busy with writing projects, life, and music practice (more on that later).

Saturday, Dad, Joseph, and Jesse took time to work at Joseph’s house, including painting and installing door handles. It’s awesome to see the main floor being finished out.

Watch for a recipe post from Anna soon!

With Gratefulness,
Sarah

Where We’ve Been

Special thanks to Mary for writing this post!

We have really enjoyed our stay here at John James Audubon State Park. Being a large, active family makes us a bit of a curiosity at an RV park since each day we exercise, some of us do our school or work outside, and we also do our music practice outside weather permitting. We love the talking time we get with our neighbors. It provides great opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus in some way or other!

Everybody likes dad. He is one of those who makes friends with everyone! He always has the right word of encouragement, compliment, or humor to whomever is around. While we girls started on our walk this morning, Darryl, a very industrious park employee, was driving by on his golf cart, and stopped us. He told us he had just spoken to our dad and said how much he enjoyed his conversation with Dad. Darryl continued that Dad’s encouragement was just what he needed. It’s been exciting to hear all the conversations different family members have had with our neighbors here.

We look forward to Louisville this weekend and what the Lord Jesus will do.

Jesus’ Girl,
Mary
