Happy Mother’s Day | 2019

Happy Mother’s Day to our incredible mom! Mom tirelessly pours herself first into her family and then into other women around the world. She’s the dedicated wife to Dad for almost 45 years, Mom to 8 adult kids, and Grandma to a growing tribe.

This lady is truly the real deal. Serving quietly in the background, meeting needs, and looking out for others’ interests. Proverbs 31:27: “She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.”

Mom’s driven and diligent. She pours her heart into what is before her. My Delight is the most recent example of that.

Happy Mother’s Day also to my sisters-in-law: Melanie (who is still hanging in there with Baby!), Anna Marie, Elissa, and Chelsy!

To those of you who have lost a little one this past year or a loved one, please know we care and are very sorry for that loss.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Love,
Sarah

A special note from Mom (Teri) to all you mothers: Happy Mother’s Day! Bless you, dear moms, as you faithfully serve your families, investing your all in them. They may not always, or even ever, give you the gratitude you deserve, but the Lord knows every sacrifice you make for them.

As a grandmother looking back on my mothering days, I don’t regret all the time I spent with my children–reading to them, playing with them, working with them, teaching them. I do regret times I was impatient or frustrated with them. On Mother’s Day, may I encourage you to be grateful for every minute the Lord gives you with your children and use your time positively and purposefully. — Teri

Mother’s Day in Real Life

I want to share with you what our Mother’s Day looked like. We began the day with Mom’s special breakfast of choice: pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and yogurt + fruit + granola (sorry, no pictures there).

After church, our immediate family plus GiGi enjoyed lunch together.

Late afternoon, we gave Mom gifts + cards, and then in the evening, all the relatives came over. What a happy, full house!

At church, Christopher’s family gave out roses to all the mothers.

Nathan dropped flowers off for Mom!

Cheese crisp for lunch.

Arnold intrigued by the curling ribbon

Working to arrange all the littles.

Three generations!

Handing out dessert

Instead of expanding the table since we weren’t having a meal, some stood. Love the action going on here!

Tina collected up the paper plates and took Ellie into the other room to let her lick them off. Ellie = SUPER happy

Notice Arnold.

Bible time

Tina asked to help Lydia read her verses. Tina, at not quite 6, can read the Bible well! Lydia “reads” by repeating phrases.

Hmmm, those two boys again, one going after my lens cap, and my phone is probably next.

Calia and crew gave Mom the book, The Gardener. It’s a heart-warming, really awesome children’s book (Titus2’s Amazon affiliate link, see our Privacy Policy).

I’m so grateful for a Mom who is an incredible woman of God, loves her family, and serves Him in any way she can.

Love,
Sarah

Happy Mother’s Day!

Wait. What’s going on? Celebrating Mother’s Day in April? Sure, why not?

We know that the official Mother’s Day is May 8th, but we decided to throw a surprise early Mother’s Day celebration.

We cooked Mom’s favorite meals and truly celebrated. But the evening was the best part, because we could then reveal our very special gift.

We shocked Mom with a trip to True Woman ’16 this September! It’s something she’s wanted to go to, and we have all the details in place: plane ticket, conference and hotel reservations, and rooming with a sweet sister in Christ who is coming from overseas. The gift was definitely a huge hit, because she cried happy tears. She was in shock until this morning still. We’re really excited for her to have this opportunity.

How many of you all are going? It’d be awesome to meet up with Mom at some point during the conference.

So, happy early Mother’s Day, Mom! And don’t y’all worry; she’s such an amazing mom, we’ll celebrate then too. That makes two Mother’s Days: can you ever have enough?

Love,
Sarah

A Very Special Celebration for Our Parents

We celebrated both Mother’s and Father’s Day today, June 14th. Due to unusual circumstances, we ended up not being able to properly celebrate on Mother’s Day nor Father’s Day, tomorrow.

We (Sarah, Joseph, John, Anna, Jesse, and Mary) voted to take Dad and Mom out to a restaurant this afternoon. Kansas City is known for its great barbecue, and Jack Stack is probably its best. We had a delightful time enjoying each other’s fellowship.

After we got home, everyone tackled projects, and we rounded out the day with Bible time (and talking!), dessert, and gifts.

We love you, Dad and Mom!

Love,
Sarah for the rest
