A Great Way to Wrap Up the Trip

We experienced a “first” on this trip: the first time meeting in a store-front church. Due to the limited individual rooms, we also used the church next door for sessions. It worked out perfectly!

Friday afternoon went quickly, with the usual set up, practice, and family Bible time. We enjoyed having a number of guests for our Bible time.

We were delighted to see quite a few people we knew along with meeting many others. Our conference coordinator attended Mt. Airy last year and felt led to invite us to give a weekend conference in Roanoke. I am so grateful for our coordinators on this trip. Each one had a heart for the conference and an anticipation in seeing what the Lord Jesus would do. Thank you for your enthusiasm, hospitality, and love for families.

We had families driving in from various distances, Florida, southern Georgia, Washington DC, North Carolina and of course Virginia. It’s exciting to see lives changed for the glory of God! I’m so grateful for a family who is “…not ashamed of the gospel of Christ..”

Friday and Saturday’s sessions went quite smoothly. As I sat in the back of Mom’s, I delighted in seeing how she is such an encouragement to the ladies. She is so practical and open, and by the ladies’ response, it’s obvious they are blessed. I was in Joseph’s, Who Is Jesus to You? session for a few minutes, and I love seeing his heart for the Lord. He’s filled with an intense love for Jesus, and it just flows right from his message. Dad’s guys met in the kitchen, and although a bit of a tight fit, it was great.

May we each serve the Lord Jesus with every breath He gives us.

Joyfully His,
Sarah

Renelle and I have known each other for over ten years, and she and her husband drove 4 1/2 hours to come on Saturday. It was a delight to see them, along with meeting their precious little girl.

Our Time in Kentucky

Good morning! It’s a pretty October morning, and the delicious aroma of coffee is in the bus. I want to share with you about last weekend’s conference in Louisville.

We arrived a little later than planned due to some unforeseen circumstances, but set up went quickly. We’re thankful for the great help people gave us. The business session went smoothly, and the interaction and questions were wonderful. After that, people moved into the sanctuary for music and Be Inspired!

Saturday morning, sessions went smoothly. There were a number of families this weekend who had driven several hours to attend, and one had stopped in on their way back from vacation. We greatly appreciate every family’s investment of time!

Individual situations and needs are different, and it is a blessing to listen and then encourage others in the Lord Jesus. I also love when someone shares with us that they’ve been inspired by what has been shared. We met several blog followers, and they are a great encouragement to us as we talk.

This week, we were just able to get through all our panel questions, and it seems to be a great way to finish off the weekend.

We’re on to Pennsylvania for the conference there tonight!

Blessings,

Sarah

Belleville Report

We left home about 7:15 Friday morning. Belleville (St. Louis area) was supposed to be about a five hour drive. However, we hit a major slowdown, which cost us a little time. When we arrived at the church, we found out that we actually had spoken there many years ago (at least 10+). That’s neat.

Set up went smoothly, and so did music practice. A great group showed up for the small business session. There was good dialog and ideas offered during that time, and then we transitioned to the concert and Inspire! session.

Saturday dawned sunny and cool, a gorgeous autumn day. We began promptly at 9, and our day progressed quickly. Families were very attentive to what was shared, and our hearts were full of joy to see the Lord Jesus working. We saw old friends and met new ones as well. The panel discussion was our most diversified one yet. Not only were the questions very interesting and assorted, we couldn’t even hope to get through them all in the time allotted! Answering questions on the spur of the moment, makes one think quickly ;).

A special joy to me was meeting a new little baby, Gibson, who was named after a Moody character. If you remember from an earlier blog post, one of his brothers wanted to name their baby Gibson, and sure enough, that’s his name. It was a joy to hold him!

Saturday evening, we drove to a state park in Kentucky where we’ve been since. I’ll share some pictures on that later. 😉 We look forward to Louisville this weekend!

Joyfully His,
Sarah

I thought this little girl was so sweet, taking notes on her pad. The young people moved to a different, and cooler, room for the last session.
