Good-bye, Uriah.

It all began in December 2007, and it’s ending in November 2014. A picture is worth a thousand words.

We are so grateful to the Lord for the time we had Uriah. It was quite the journey converting him from a leaky metal box on wheels to a home. He was home for us no matter where we were.

We found out that the main chassis frame is rusting through. It is beyond our capabilities to repair, so after prayer the decision is that we won’t be traveling with him any longer. We will be back to van, cargo trailer, and hotel rooms for future conferences such as the Wichita, KS Energize! conference.

We have been so blessed for these years, but the time has come. We don’t know exactly what his fate will be. We will decide in the next two weeks. Since you all are such a part, we wanted to tell you about this new season in our lives. God is good all the time.

“O come, let us sing unto the Lord:
let us make a joyful noise to
the rock of our salvation.”
Psalm 95:1

Oklahoma’s Conference

Last Tuesday was the final conference of the trip. The family had mixed feelings as the evening approached. We love to travel, meet people, be an encouragement, and be encouraged, but at the same time, it’s always good to get home and see the family.

The M’s, good friends of ours, hosted the conference. They did an incredible job! We met a bunch of great Oklahoman’s! Not to mention one family who drove seven hours from Texas! Folks’ hearts were tender and soaked in the message.

We heard the most touching story we’ve heard in a long time from one man. Fourteen years ago to the day, his house burned down. He lost not just his earthly material but also his precious wife and five daughters. He shared with us how the Lord has given him so much peace through the pain. He was a beautiful example of Christ’s love. It reminds us that we know nothing of hardship!

It was a perfect conference to wind up one more incredible, exciting conference trip! Thank you to each one who made the effort to come and giving us the chance to meet you.

Mississippi’s Report

Last Monday night was a very small conference.  Despite the few numbers, we knew the Lord wanted us to be there. We were so grateful for our coordinator, and those who came with open hearts!

Georgia’s Conference

Out in the countryside of Georgia, we prepared for our last weekend conference. A big thank you to Mr. M! You did so much for this event. We were blessed by all who attended, especially since most of the families came from quite a ways! Folks from Texas flew in, and another family drove three hundred miles from Tennessee. We enjoyed getting to know the families who came better.

Both Friday and Saturday went well. We were quite blessed by the cool weather! It was perfect for the kids to burn off their energy during the breaks. Dad and Mom both did an incredible job on all the sessions! We were kept motivated in the panel discussion with the interesting questions we were asked.

One mom came up afterward and said with tears in her eyes how her family had been ministered to by the conference. A dad came up to Dad, and said very emotionally, how much the ministry has meant to them. Those testimonies bring us much joy. As long as we can, we will continue to bring the hope of Jesus’ light into families’ lives!

Then we had a great time of fellowship around dinner. Mr. M was gracious to provide a pizza dinner for anyone who wanted to stay. No doubt, it was a special conference.

Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina

When we arrived in the Charleston area, it was raining, but we felt very welcome by everyone’s graciousness. The J family was so sweet to provide a taco salad dinner! Thank you.

I really enjoy listening to Mom’s new session about how to have an awesome day. I can see how inspired the ladies get when Mom reminds them of their worth and then gives practical ways for their days to go smoothly. I hope you will come and hear her secret to success!

Boone, North Carolina

A special thank you to Mary for helping with blog posts. She’s also been the one to pick out the majority of the wedding photos–thank you! We are here in the Orlando area now enjoying a wonderful conference!

Boone, North Carolina, home of Samaritan’s Purse International ministry, was our Monday night conference. Our conference coordinator had suggested that we might like to take a tour of Samaritan’s facilities, which she signed us up for and joined us on. It was great, and we were delighted for the opportunity.

We enjoyed all the hospitable and friendly people at the church. After setup was complete, our coordinators provided a delicious snack-dinner.

Dad and Mom once again inspired many. We had a wonderful time of fellowship, meeting many neat people.
