I still can’t believe Daniel made his appearance so quickly! Anna Marie was even at our house for our 4th of July get together (more on that later!).
The other night, most of the family gathered to see Daniel. I loved seeing the little kids’ joy. Drew and Daniel are birthday buddies, and Drew loves babies and was immediately taken by his new cousin.
I assure you there are more baby posts coming, and we have our newborn photo session on Saturday.

Announcing Daniel Titus Maxwell, born this morning to Christopher and Anna Marie Maxwell. He was their smallest yet at 7 pounds, 13 ounces. Daniel shares a birthday with his cousin Drew!
Anna Marie and Daniel are doing well—it was a short, but fairly intense labor. Anna Marie is an incredible girl and loves her babies. It was so sweet to see her snuggling Baby Daniel this morning.
Enjoy some first initial pictures of this darling family!
(I guess Anna Marie really was in nesting mode!)

Hmmm. I can’t remember the last time I updated you on Anna Marie, so it’s time to do so. You’ll hear from her following my note. As you’ll read Anna Marie’s comment on baby names, the funny part is Joshua told us a name recently that wasn’t even on their top baby name list. I especially am excited about the girl name they’ve picked out, but sorry, y’all, we’ll have to keep you in suspense as it’s not public! Well, I should say it was their top pick two weeks ago, so you never know if it’s changed. I love to see Christopher and Anna Marie’s thought and prayer that goes into their baby’s name!

It is amazing to think how quickly this pregnancy has progressed, with an active little baby growing and already being incorporated into family life. His/her siblings already enjoy feeling the baby move, as well as talking and singing to “New Baby” on a regular basis. It is sweet to see each of their personalities and responses to the baby. We are still prayerfully considering names and as we mention different ideas to the children, it is fun to hear Joshua’s analytical mind at work as he will state, “Then we would have Joshua, Ruthanne, Lydia, and ____.” As our resident little mommy, Ruthanne is especially excited about the baby and frequently talks about ways she would like to help care for him/her. Ruthanne can’t understand why we would just leave the baby in Mommy’s tummy instead of taking it out to begin playing play with it. 🙂 Lydia is now officially a toddler as she toddles all over the house trying to keep up with everything and everybody, and is becoming proficient at saying “bay-bee” and caring for dollies with Ruthanne! The cousins frequently ask how the baby and I are doing. Abigail and Bethany recently came over for a couple of afternoons to help me organize little boy and girl clothes in the baby room, all ready for use! We are all looking forward to welcoming our new little family member in about a month, Lord willing!
I wanted to thank you all for your prayers for my varicose veins too, and let you know they have been somewhat better this pregnancy than they were on my last one. Though it goes contrary to what we would think (yet our midwife commonly sees this) , the pain actually begins to decrease around the 32-34 week point, so they are beginning to feel better at this point. We are grateful to the Lord and thankful for your prayers!
Rejoicing in Jesus, ~Anna Marie

We girls celebrated Anna Marie’s birthday recently with a special trip out to Black Dog Coffee. We had an amazing time talking, laughing, and enjoying treats. Pass a mocha, please! Anna Marie is such a joy to be with!
It’s been awhile since we’ve done an official baby update. Anna Marie is due soon. Her pregnancy had an interesting twist this time, as her varicose veins became quite severe. Believe me, she tried tons of things to help, and while they all probably did help, her left ankle was quite painful at times and had to be regularly elevated. Thankfully, starting a few weeks ago, the pain has been significantly better. For those who know Anna Marie, she does not complain–she just doesn’t. She had such a sweet spirit despite the pain. Now that the veins have improved, she’s feeling quite good. The baby is extremely active and seems to be right on track growth wise. As it stands now, we anticipate the baby arriving in the first two weeks of March, but you know, babies do come on their own time, so we shall see!
Christopher and Anna Marie are grateful for your prayers as they prepare to welcome another child into this world. They decided not to find out the gender, so we’ll all be surprised. It’s funny; I’ve given up guessing on what someone will have. After all, it’s going to be a 50/50 chance.
Love, Sarah
