We went to two county fairs recently to share Christ. The first one I wasn’t very prepared for, was somewhat uncomfortable, and didn’t think it was very profitable. Yet, it was good because I determined to do better next time.
Other family members were successfully using balloon animals to begin conversations about spiritual things so I went home determined to learn balloon twisting. I soon got to where I could consistently make a fair-looking dog and was content to go with that.
The second night came, and I was really looking forward to it. Equipped with a balloon pump, balloons, tracts, and five dollar bills off we went. I soon found a picnic table to sit on near a food court and began making balloons for some children.
One very articulate ten-year-old young man and I had a great conversation while I made him a crazy hat. I was so saddened to learn that he had never even heard of God’s Ten Commandments. He happily took a tract with them on it to read at home later and prepare for next year, and even asked for some for his friends.
I was able to share with others and was especially pleased when I compared the first fair endeavor to the second one.
