Joshua Christopher Maxwell

Joshua was born at 5:53 a.m. and weighed 9 pounds, 4 ounces (he’ll be measured later).

Our hearts are full of gratitude to the Lord that He allowed for a wonderful delivery in our home: both Mommy and baby are doing great!

Joshua – “God is my salvation”
Christopher – “Christ bearer”

Our prayer is that Joshua will be a firstborn son whose life is a testimony of his salvation as he embraces the truth of God’s Word, courageously proclaims Christ, and humbly ministers to the needs of those around him.

“But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law… to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Joshua 22:5)

Thank you for your prayers, and we covet your continued prayer support as we seek God’s grace to raise Joshua in the nurture and admonition of the Lord…

Rejoicing in His mercy,
Christopher and Anna Marie

Rejoicing

Here’s a post from Christopher and Anna Marie:

The Lord has been very gracious to us, and it is with great joy that we anticipate holding a little one in our arms around May 20th of next year. It’s amazing to think of this new, precious life which is forming inside of Anna Marie, and we look forward to getting to know this little one better in the coming months and years. Anna Marie is feeling and doing quite well. She’s been experiencing some morning sickness, yet nothing compared to what we’ve heard others often experience.

We would greatly appreciate your prayers in the coming months (and years) as this is a new and exciting path for us, yet we know that this is something above and beyond us — we definitely need the Lord’s enabling grace!

In Christ,
Christopher, Anna Marie, and Baby

“Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD…” (Psalms 127:3)

Four months…

It’s amazing how quickly these past four months have passed by! Anna and I are so grateful to the Lord for His bountiful blessings and are loving married life. Wednesday was our four-month anniversary and we decided to go up and visit my grandmother who lives several hours north of us. While she no longer recognizes me due to Alzheimer’s, we had a wonderful time with her. Whenever I visit I’ll take her over by the piano and spend time playing hymns for her. Prior visits she would sing along, last visit she hummed, but this time she just tapped her foot ever so slightly.

Special time together

On the way up, and back, we saw many Snow Geese flying in V’s high in the sky. They were particularly prevalent in the area near the Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge. We were driving back through that area in the early evening and exited the interstate to see if the geese were settling down on the lake (it is only 3 miles from the interstate). Wow, were they. I don’t think I have ever seen so many Snow Geese in one area!

The water was covered with Snow Geese.

As we watched the geese, I was hoping they would decide to take off as I wanted to see them all in flight. It wasn’t many minutes later that they all took off.

The entire flock taking off (though, technically, when they are not in flight they are a "gaggle", and when they are in the air they are a "skein".
It seemed that all one could see were birds!

We were overwhelmed with the beauty and majesty of God’s incredible creation, and our hearts were full of gratitude to the Lord for a special visit with Grandma and being blessed to see such an amazing sight on the way home.

As we left the refuge and headed for home the sky was still filled with thousands of geese.

“For thou art great, and doest wondrous things:
thou art God alone”
(Psalms 86:10).

October 23rd

For those who would like to be a part of the wedding via the Live Stream, we wanted to let you know that the wedding date has been set for October 23rd, and the ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. PST. We will be posting the link closer to the wedding date.

Anna and I are grateful to the Lord for all that He has done, and we really appreciate your prayers and support. This has been an exciting and wonderful time!

Engaged

“The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.” (Psalms 126:3)

The time our families had together last week was very special. Toward the end of that week I asked Anna to be my wife, and she said “yes!”.

Our current prayer is that God will provide a facility (in Washington) and a date (hopefully in October/November). We also hope to Live Stream the wedding so that those who would like to, but are not able to be with us in person, can still be a part.

We are so grateful for your prayer support as we begin planning a wedding and our future life together. The desire of our hearts is to bring God glory through this process and our life together. We love each other very much, are thrilled that God has brought us together, and look toward the future with excited anticipation.
