Together

Sarah in a meal photo! The others were out of town for various reasons.

This week we are enjoying advancing into more normal, pre-Covid family interactions.

Gigi was two weeks out from her second Covid vaccine on April 21st. Because of that she felt the freedom to resume some activities she missed for 13 months—like going to church. She joined us at our church (her normal church has been Main Post Chapel on Ft. Leavenworth for over 35 years) and then came to Sunday family lunch. What a treat for us!

Anna Marie recently finished her last treatment at the cancer center, and they are also stepping back into more social interactions. They invited Steve, me, and the aunts to a delicious Mexican feast Monday evening. Everyone was so excited to be able to be with them in their home again. And we are delighted that Anna Marie has the health and energy to want to cook for and have guests over for dinner! Thank You, Jesus!!

Trusting in Jesus,
Teri

“I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound:
every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full
and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need” (Philippians 4:12).

  1. It’s wonderful to see all the smiling faces gathered around your table, especially Gigi, and nice to see Sarah in the photo since she’s usually behind the camera. We’re having my sister, brother-in-law and my dad over for lunch today, the first time since Christmas, 2019. Also, what a praise that Anna Marie’s treatments are finished and that she feels well enough to invite people over. Such great news all around!

  2. Wow, this is wonderful progress for Anna Marie! Even without recovering from a major physical challenge, hosting a meal is lots of work. Praise God for this energy! Also, Anna Marie’s hair is BEAUTIFUL, and I am sure she is thankful to have this blessing that most of us take for granted, or even complain about.

    1. I agree, especially with six little children. Even though the girls are good help Anna Marie says, they still aren’t very old for real kitchen help.

  3. Woohoo! So happy to see you all together – being able to gather safely has made us realize what a blessing family is. I hope Gigi is recovering well from the vaccine – my grandparents will also be getting it to come to my wedding in the next few months!
God bless and keep your family!

    1. Gigi didn’t have any effects from the vaccine except for a bit of soreness on her arm. Hope all goes well with your wedding planning and wedding.

  4. Great to see everyone together and doing well! I get my second vaccine next week and am so excited for the time when my husband and I are able to gather with our family members like this again, which will be two weeks after, as I’m final member of our local family to get it (one loved one in particular is quite imunocompromised/vulnerable, so we are being extra, extra cautious.)

  5. That’s great that you all can do more things together now! Lots of praise reports in this post. Been wondering how Anna Marie and Christopher’s family are doing. Been praying.

    Good news. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thank you for praying for Anna Marie and her family. We are very grateful for how well she is feeling and her great reports concerning the cancer.

  6. How wonderful that you all could be together again! I am thrilled to see Sarah doing so well. We, too, are looking forward to being together with extended family again. We haven’t seen my in-laws since Christmas 2019, but now that we are all vaccinated, we are looking forward to traveling to see them in a few weeks. I can’t wait! I’ve always valued our times with them, but the extended separation has made our upcoming visit all the more special. 🙂
