Window Cleaning for Gigi

Spring means we like to clean Gigi’s windows. Generally that happens the same day, or near it, that the family pitches in to do spring mulching and yard work at her house. However, as the mulching work was done in the spring of 2019, it was evident that Gigi needed her deteriorated back patio removed, a new roof, and gutters. She didn’t want her windows washed knowing how all that work would mess up her clean windows. The projects weren’t completed until fall, and by then we decided to wait for window cleaning until spring.

With Spring 2020 came Covid restrictions and concerns, so the windows weren’t done then either. However this fall as Sarah neared her book completion, she volunteered to help me wash Gigi’s windows, not wanting to let another whole year pass for Gigi without clean windows.

So on a beautiful Tuesday morning, we collected our supplies and headed over for our project. The job took Sarah and me an hour and 15 minutes. Gigi was delighted to have clean windows after 2.5 years!

Ellie was out back with some of the little kids, and she wished she could be in with Sarah.
Happy little kids

We’re excited to share the release of my new book will be Tuesday, November 17th, at 9am, Central. We’ll announce it here on the blog and also on Titus2’s main page. We expect to begin shipping that week. I can’t wait to share the release!

“This book was so interesting that I just wanted to keep reading it!” Jedidiah, 9

“The message of choosing to forgive through devastating circumstances was so powerful and real… and was portrayed beautifully in this book.” Olivia, mom

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid” (Matthew 5:14).

Anna’s Birthday Party

We had such a wonderful Saturday celebrating Anna’s birthday as a family!

As goes our birthday traditions, Anna chose the meals. She and Mary enjoyed a run first thing (due to my injury in June, I’m not up to running yet), and then we had a family breakfast. In the afternoon, she helped with a Good News club.

It seems it has been a while since we’ve been together for a birthday party, and Nathan and John’s crew joined us. Happy family times.

We’re so blessed by Anna’s life and testimony!

Lunch with Gigi
Then our dessert + evening with the crew. Oreo pie for dessert!
You’ll often find Anna and Mary doing something with kids: whether at home or church!
Mom with Debi and Elliot
Elliot’s smile is adorable!
Bible time as a family. I love seeing how my brothers are training their kids in the Lord too, and their kiddos read Scripture so well!
Benji was so excited about his gift. He gave Anna a precious treasure of his–a mini level!
I think Ellie was a little nervous surrounded by these two.
Abby made the pink hat for Anna (and yes, you can tell we’re now living in COVID times as you can see Anna received a mask as well: polka dots add a nice touch).

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works,
which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).

Campaigning in the Neighborhood

Yesterday morning, Nathan and Melanie’s kids decided to campaign from their driveway. They all made signs and then went out front as people in the neighborhood were on their way to work. Folks honked, waved, and some ignored as they drove by. These kids have also spent many hours with their family doing local campaigning for Kansas races. This was such a cute picture, I just had to share!

“Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake:
whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them
that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of
them that do well” (1 Peter 2:13-14).

A Call to Action

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3rd, our country votes.

We want to encourage you to vote for life. We are image-bearers created in God’s image, and abortion destroys that. Some may have the excuse not to vote for a candidate because of {xyz reason}.

But, please, take a moment to consider this most critical issue: LIFE. Which candidate supports life? It is obvious. As Christians, we are called to love our neighbor. Matthew 22:39: And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The unborn child, growing inside her mother, is certainly our neighbor and our most helpless one too. Proverbs 31:8: Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

May we vote boldly, and may we stand for life.

This election is extremely important to the future of our children and grandchildren. Please, don’t allow other reasons to keep you from voting for the candidate who has boldly stood for life.

PS: We will not be approving any comments that are meant to be argumentative or unkind. This is a call to action to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

“Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God.
Honour the king” (1 Peter 2:17).
