Our children had many happy hours in creative play. They wore out several cozy coupes and there were more than a few tickets written.
The children got behind the wheel at an early age. Even if there were iPads and computer games then, we still would have chosen this sort of play.
On a walk, Steve and I saw a cozy coupe out for the trash some time ago. It still looked serviceable so it came home. On our Labor Day picnic, we brought it out. It was so cute to see Joseph and John’s children reenacting the type of play their dads played years earlier.
Kyle needing some serious help from cousin Axton. The push was much easier once Kyle kept his feet off the ground.
“We will not hide them from their children,
shewing to the generation to come
the praises of the LORD, and his strength,
and his wonderful works that he hath done”
(Psalm 78:4).
We were given a car just like this when our daughter was toddler. Our nieces and nephews played with it, friends of the family used it and now our grandsons play with it. We joke that it just rolled over to 300,000 miles!
So practical and so much fun!
Oh wow! Those pictures bring back such fond memories of when our kids were little and had rode around our driveway in one of those. What a blessing you have given your grandkids by pulling that out of the trash!
Look for one in your neighborhood that is being given away so you can have it for your grandchildren!
Oh, I love this so much! My sister got a cozy coupe for Christmas she was four and I was six, back in the ‘90s, and there’s a very funny video my family took that day of me, pushing her out of it because I wanted to “drive” it (not my finest moment, and my parents, grandparents, and aunts and uncles in the video very kindly reminded me that this was not very kind, and that I had plenty of new toys of my own to enjoy at the moment!) After that initial unfortunate incident the two of us had tons of fun with it too over the years. I don’t think we wrote TOO many tickets, but we did drive our pets around quite a bit, and also “body surf”
On top of it when we got to big to drive inside.
I wonder if that’s when they first came out – the 90’s – because that’s when our children were playing with theirs. You have quite the great memories with your sister and your cozy coupe!
I read somewhere that the cozy couple is the #1 bestselling car in the world. 🙂
Amazing! Probably true. I can picture all those little kids through the years driving around. I looked it up and found out it was first made in 1979.
I love this!
Me too – every time I look back at the photos in that post!
Ah, What lovely photos.
This brings back memories of our eldest daughter playing with her cozy coupe, she’s a girly girl, and everything has to be pink, so she was over joyed when my husband and I managed to get her a pink one! It’s in the garage waiting for our youngest to get to an age where she can play with it. They are great toys!
And then take good care of it and save it for your granddaughters!
So funny seeing the ticket writing!!!! That is really cute!!! That Cosy Coupe is a fun toy!! My kids have loved it too!
Photos weren’t as easy to get back then. I am so glad someone pulled out a camera and caught the moment. Probably Steve. He was a photographer with a good camera long before some of our children became interested in photography.
Precious!!!
