Gigi’s Mulch Work Party

Last week, we Maxwells pitched in for a blitz-Gigi’s-yard-and-Christopher’s to put down about a hundred bags of mulch. Christopher once again coordinated the effort. Although we were almost two months later than normal, God gave us an incredible evening with cooler temps and a north wind! Many Maxwells descended upon the yard, filling it with laughter and fellowship. It was beautiful to see some of the littles work alongside the adults.

It only took about an hour to get all the mulch down, and we ended with a pizza party.

We love you , Gigi!

Love,
Sarah

This lil’ munchkin was adorable, toting around the empty bags.

“Man goeth forth unto his work
and to his labour until the evening.
O Lord, how manifold are thy works!
in wisdom hast thou made them all:
the earth is full of thy riches.”
Psalm 104:23-24

  1. O Wow!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s absolutely amazing!!! Looks like ya’ll had many cheerful nimble little helpers :)! Wonderful job, Maxwells! Just today I bought 8 bags of black mulch and thought that was an abundance! I can’t imagine over 12 times my amount!! Mulch displays a garden off beautifully! “The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich.” Proverbs.

    1. Elizabeth and I were a team for most of the mulch party. She would watch for any bag that had been emptied, go for it, and carry it to where I had the trash bag to collect them in. There was lots to keep her busy, and at just 2-years-old she wanted to keep doing it when other of the children had begun to play.

  2. PS. Those little stools look super handy for such picnics! 🙂 Stack ‘n’ Carry!

    1. Yes, Christopher has quite a supply of them. They are good inside, too. I see them all over especially at the sink in the children’s bathroom and in the kitchen to help the children reach things on the counter.
