Today we’re sharing a post from Christopher and Anna Marie with an urgent prayer request.
As we approach 36 weeks in our pregnancy, a lot of things are changing in regards to healthcare for Anna Marie and Baby. Yet as our hopes, plans, and expectations are so very rapidly changing, we’re grateful to be trusting in the One Who never changes.
Earlier in the pregnancy, a small lump was discovered that could likely have been due to hormone changes and weaning. Our doctor has been monitoring it and we’ve done some imaging. Over the past weeks, it has been growing rapidly and showing concerning characteristics. These past few days, we’ve consulted with a number of physicians and health experts, and are setting up appointments to consult with more. On Wednesday, a surgeon who reviewed our case and imaging said he has no doubt it is breast cancer. While we are still waiting on pathology and would welcome news to the contrary, it seems 99% sure that we are dealing with an urgent and very serious health issue.
While many things are still being worked through right now, it seems our little one will likely need to be induced as soon as it is thought to be safe to do so, allowing Anna Marie some postpartum recovery in preparation for surgery.
What the future holds beyond that: we sure don’t know. Yet God does.
In this situation, we know exactly what our will is, yet our prayer is that God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:10, Luke 22:42).
We welcome prayers for wisdom in the many decisions we are facing right now, for healing and strength for Anna Marie now and in the days ahead, for our family to grow stronger and closer together through this time, and for peaceful hearts resting in God’s amazing grace.
Grateful for you all, and trusting in Him,
Christopher and Anna Marie
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn
of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find
rest unto your soul” (Matthew 11:28-30).
I pray that Anna Marie will listen to her doctors who God has sent to help her. I pray that she has the strength to do what needs to be done for all six of her children.
I’ve known several children born a month early and they have all turned out fine. I have a good feeling the baby will be okay.
Thank you.
My mom recovered 100% naturally without chemo, from breast cancer about 20 years ago, and is still doing well. Some of the things she did were completely cutting out sugar, and using foodgrade hydrogen peroxide in her drinks (cancer cells thrive on sugar, but cannot survive in oxygen.). I can’t remember all of the things she did… (I think she may have done vegetable juicing also)…but there is an excellent naturopathic doctor in Largos, Florida, named John Young that you can look up online, if interested. He is a very kind man who has done phone consultations with my mom when needed even though we now live out of state. He has had many success stories. Will pray the Lord directs you down the right path!
Thank you. Christopher and Anna Marie are reading the comments so they will see what you have shared.
I’m praying! Keep trusting the Lord; His ways are higher.
“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”-Joshua 1:9b
Thank you.
Much love and prayers for you all. When I and my sister were little my mother was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. After much treatment all was believed to be going well until a scan showed a new growth. My mother recalls sitting and praying on her couch that God would heal her. She felt a warm presence move through her body as she prayed and her follow up scan showed no sign of cancer. Almost 15 years on she is still cancer free. In the moment we might question why God has given us this cup to bear but He has a greater plan for us and can work miracles if we trust in Him.
Thank you. Very encouraging testimony from your mom.
Keeping Anna Marie, her baby and family in my thoughts.
Thank you.
I will be praying for your family. My mom had breast cancer last year. It can definitely be scary. Especially in this not knowing stage.
“I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth. My flesh also shall rest in hope.”
Psalm 16:8-9
Thank you. You really understand.
I just wanted to add that many years ago, I had an aunt that was pregnant when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Today she and her daughter are alive and doing well!
Encouraging!
Oh my goodness. I am so sorry to read this news. Anna Marie has long been an inspiration to me and I strive to raise my little family following her example. I’m praying for her and her baby.
Thank you.
Praying for Anna Marie and her family.
Thank you.
Praying for you all!
Thank you.
I am praying for your family during this time! I know she uses essential herbs and there are oils, especially Frank. that is amazing to not only aid in healing but people use this by rubbing it on their feet as well as ingestion (therepeutic grade only) such as Young Living or doTERRA. And it is safe for babies! And was a gift the baby Jesus! Hopefully someone can gift her a bottle, couldn’t hurt anything! I take it orally to boost my immune system. I know the company Young Living has sent bottles of “sacred frankincense” to cancer patients in the past. I am pregnant by the way and love using it but it is a touch pricey. But after researching how it is so safe with no known side effects and all of it’s uses I feel confident! I have a dear friend who has had breast cancer three times now and she says she uses it regularly and difuses it and has been helpful. nature doctors are wonderful but I go to one and know they are expensive. A good compromise if it were me would be listening to medical doctors to get this thing under control for a quick fix and THEN do all the natural stuff like diet and essential oils and everything else there is humanly possible without spending TOO much time or money. But if I had a dear friend I would be sending a bottle of Frank for sure! But I know you aren’t me but I really want to share one thing that I would definitely do. But I know you are left by the Lord on this journey of life and will make sound decisions and do your own path, which for everyone should be individual! There is no one right or wrong way when it comes to health. Praying for peace and direction and making God be the final decision maker! He will open doors and close them and it sounds like he is! You are in good hands. Thank you for reading my few cents. So glad you are near the end of your pregnancy so that baby will be well taken care if should she or he be born a little early! Last thing. My girlfriend has all her babies a month early and all have been as healthy as full term! Thankful for all the medical support and nature support we have these days! Best of both worlds! When we let God be in charge of course! Blessings!
Thank you.
Our family is praying for Anna Marie. We are asking for a miracle for her and the baby. We are also praying for Christopher that God will give him the strength to support Anna Marie at this difficult time and for peace of mind. We will also pray for the kids as we know it must be difficult to see their Mommy facing such a difficult situation. May God bless and keep you.
Thank you.
I just cannot believe this news. I am praying for Anna Marie And Christopher and their precious family. Remember in your darkest moments God has got this. He is in charge and will see you through the pregnancy to a safe and healthy birth. Then you will be strong enough to tackle the breast cancer full steam ahead. You all are already on my prayer list for a safe delivery and I will now add for a positive outcome for the breast cancer to be healed.
Thank you.
I will pray against the “what-ifs” right now! And will keep praying.
Agreed. Thank you.
Father God, thank you for the gift of friendship and faith that brings us together over the miles. I am thankful for this sweet family and their love for you. I pray your healing presence over Anna and her health. I pray for strength and peace. I pray your blessings over the doctors and medical staff who are advising Chris and Anna. I pray for sureness and confidence as they work together to find treatment for Anna. Please sustain Anna and her family for the coming weeks and months as they navigate decisions and pray for healing.
In Christ’s name.
Thank you, Lori, for writing out your prayer.
I am heartbroken to read this news. Anna Marie (and family), you will be in my daily, fervent prayers. I pray for “peace that surpasses all understanding”, along with His wisdom, strength, and courage beyond measure. Additionally, I pray for each of the children–that God would shelter their minds and keep them completely free from worry. I am asking Jesus to do great things on behalf of you and your sweet family.
Thank you. Liked reading your specific prayers.
Our prayers are with Ann Marie and the whole family.
Thank you.
So very sorry to read this and will be praying for you all as you face this difficult time. For His glory and to encourage you: I have a healthy, strong, average-height 16 year old who was born at 36 weeks and a friend is heading towards 15 years post-breast cancer survival.
Thank you for praying. Encouraging testimonies you have to share too.
Lifting you to Jesus.
Thank you.
Praying for your family. Psalm 46:1-3
Thank you.
Praying for Anna and the family!
Isiah 41:10
Thank you.
Oh what a difficult situation. I will pray for Anna Marie, Christopher, and their children. For what it’s worth, my mother had a very serious illness when I was a child. My strongest memories of that time were of how lovingly my dad took care of my mom. I also remember how the adults in my life affirmed my childhood. I maintained age appropriate responsibilities and my parents and family helped us kids to have fun and take breaks from the challenges of home. Cancer is so very hard for a young family, but the kids can still thrive.
Thank you for praying and for the testimony from your childhood.
Lifting Anna Marie up in prayer. May the LORD be watching over the surgeons and heal her.
Thank you.
Our family is in prayers for Anna Marie, her precious baby, her children and husband. We have seen first hand how cancer comes and how it can destroy and change a person’s body, mind, family, etc… but through our Lord we KNOW it is HE who has gone before us, stays with us and in HIS will and time can Heal in whatever matter that is. We pray for this family, for Gods hand to be present as He weaves what is to come, and we pray for what is to come is healing. The Br. Family
Thank you.
I’ve been praying for you Anna Marie and when I pray I have such peace in my heart. I’m not sure what that means, but I know God is with you. I did a little research and have found some pregnant women have had lumps that have grown very quickly and looked suspicious and were not cancerous. Of course we don’t know yet, but I want to speak words of encouragement and comfort to you. I know we don’t know each other personally, but I have been following the blog for many years and you all feel like family. Just know a sister in Christ loves you and will pray you through!
Thank you. That’s encouraging.
Do they have a blog or any kind of website?
Just here.
I have been reading your blog for several years and have been encouraged by your family’s beautiful Christian walk. I will be praying for Christopher and Anna Marie and their family as they face this difficult circumstance.
Very grateful.
SO sorry to read this 🙁 Praying for Anna Marie and her family!
Anne-Laure from Europe
Thank you.
You are in my prayers! I love seeing how many people are praying for you!
Thank you. I agree. So encouraging for Anna Marie and Christopher and all the Maxwells too.
Dear Anna Marie,
I will be praying for you as you go through something I went through myself just a couple of years ago. After finding a lump I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. I was 35 and it was my first mammogram. To make a long story short, it took about a year to go through treatment. After 16 rounds of chemo, 2 surgeries and 6 weeks of 5 days a week radiation, I was in remission. I am so grateful to God, my family, friends and an excellent team of doctors and nurses who saw me through it.
As you start your journey towards becoming better, I hope you will feel your faith sustain you during any difficult days ahead. I hope it helps you to know that not everyone gets sick from chemo. I was a little fatigued sometimes on chemo days, but that was it. When I think back on my journey through cancer, what first comes to mind is the kindness I was shown by people. I don’t think of the needle pricks, the endless appointments. I think of the meal train nice friends put together for me, and perfect strangers helped participate in. I think of the sweet ladies from a local charity who brought us all handmade blankets and pillows to keep us snug in the chemo room chairs. I think of the many cards of support I received and the incredible nurses and doctors I was treated by. I also made new friends who I keep in touch with to this day, we are all in remission now.
Sometimes I think I am grateful for having gone through it, because there were so many blessings along the way. I’m certainly not angry at God and trust the plan he has for me. My passion now is to be open about it with other women, so they know how important a mammogram is, even with no family history or genetic predisposition and before the age of 40. Such was my case. I would love to be there for you if you have any questions on what to expect. Please know there are many women out there like me who would love to be of help to a fellow young mom. I wish you all the best and you’ll certainly be in my thoughts and prayers.
Thank you, Marianne. Very encouraging to read of your journey with breast cancer and outcome. I think Anna Marie is fairly close to the age you were when diagnosed with breast cancer.
As soon as we learned this new, all of our family was kneeling in prayer for you and your family. And we will continue in supplication to the Lord. May God give you the peace which passeth all understanding, and shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4:7.
The M. family
So blessed the you would all knee and make supplication to the Lord for Anna Marie and the baby.
Praying for you, C&A.
Thank you.
Dear Anna Marie and Family,
You have all been such a blessing to me as I raise my family in the Lord. I just wanted to perhaps encourage you? I am just now 5 years clear past my BC diagnosis and although praying for many more, I am so thankful for these years.
You know scripture so well: we only take on one day, one hour, one moment at at a time, and if we don’t borrow trouble from the next day, hour, moment–usually where we are right now is quite manageable and even joyful! Much of my journey has been what I’ve made of it. For example, driving to a chemo appt. on a beautiful summer day wasn’t really any different than driving to the beach on the same day, the drive was the same, it was all my expectation of the destination. And if I was honest, chemo wasn’t any worse than pregnancy-sickness, which I was glad to endure. It is the spirit of fear I have to battle, not the cancer.
I will pray for peace for you, taking every thought captive, for healing, and for a beautiful new baby : )
Blessings to you all,
That is encouraging, Kelly. Thank you for sharing your story and the lessons the Lord has taught you along the way.
I will be praying for you Anna Marie and family. My close friend received medical care for stage 4 BC and is 3 years free now. I know it helped her draw closer to God…depending each moment on Him.
Thank you. And love the encouraging testimonies.
I’ve been following ur blog for about 1/2 year now!
Praying for y’all!!
The Lord is MY rock, and MY fortress, and MY deliverer, MY God, MY strength, in whom I will trust; MY buckler, and the horn of MY salvation, and MY high tower:
Psalm 18:2
Thank you.
Praying, interceding for you Anna, as well as your baby, and family.
Thank you.
Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body…
What a difficult diagnosis and time for your family. We are praying for your family, especially the children.
Thank you for sharing the love of Christ. You have been an encouragement to me through your books, blog, and way you live your lives. Keep pressing on!
Thank you.
I just had a few free moments and thought of checking in with you all and just saw this. I will be praying for Anna Marie and Christopher and all of the family during this time. Your testimony has always been such a treasure and I pray the Lord gives you the peace, wisdom, and all you need as you walk with Him each day. Through all the trials I have passed so far, I don’t really see the scariness or pain (although there have been much of both) but I remember how the Lord carried me through, the love He showed through His Word and through others who cared so much. I remember great times of growth and a closeness to my Savior. Praying for you and love you all!
Thank you, Jaynee, for your prayers and encouraging testimony.
I don’t know you all. But I’m praying for Anna Marie. Complete HEALING!!! Lots of Love and protection and strength from His angels are heading your way!
I am praying fervently for sweet Anna Marie! She just has the most pleasant smile in photos and you can see her love of family and motherhood. Christopher too, a good Dad and solid husband to his sweetheart. My prayers are with him, too, as he helps make difficult decisions, may he hear the Lord’s voice clearly. You have all been such a blessing,in your time of need I consider it a privledge to pray for all. Jesus is right with you all holding you close and my prayer is that you will feel His calming presence through all of this.
Much love,
Suzanne and family
I will be praying for sweet Anna Marie! Your family has blessed ours in so many ways over the years through your ministry, and you truly feel like family. What a difficult time, with so many emotions! I’ll be praying for her, eager for updates to see how the Lord moves in the days ahead. Much love to you Anna Marie!
praying!
I will pray! I am thriving after breast and ovarian cancer 9 years ago at age 39. I had surgery and chemotherapy. No family history. A tumor that I found myself, but didn’t show up with mammogram. I encourage all my friends to do a monthly self breast exam! My recommendations would be 1) get a biopsy to confirm diagnosis before surgery, and 2) after the biopsy get a second opinion.
Hebrews 12:1-2 “looking unto Jesus”
I am praying against the spirit of fear for you and your family. My sister-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer while pregnant. That was 25 years ago. She and her son are still here. No cancer or treatment can alter the Lord’s plan. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 God will use this challenging time for good.
Thank you for praying. Encouraging testimony!
We are so sorry for them and are praying for her. If it would be an encouragement at all to her, I am a mother of 6 children (expecting our seventh), and a little over 2 years ago, six weeks after my 6th child was born, I had a grand mal seizure in the middle of the night and an MRI showed I had a massive brain tumor. I had to have surgery to have it removed, and it took about a year and a half before I was fully recovered. It was a very tough time for our entire family and we required a lot of outside help, but the Lord was very merciful and brought us through that trial and I can definitely say we all grew closer to the Lord through it. I would not wish a trial like I went through on anyone, as there was so much pain involved, but I can say from the other side of it now, that He used it for His glory. I pray she will come through surgery safely and that her family and friends will be there for them to help in everyday details with all the little ones. The friends and family who just kept bringing us meals or stopping by to do a little cleaning or help occupy the children for a little bit really helped lift the burden off of my husband and lifted both of our spirits through the dark days of not knowing how everything would turn out. I praise the Lord that I am ok now and am rejoicing in the Lord that He has given us another baby due in May! I was very encouraged through all the pain by scripture songs that our family sings (KJV scripture put to music)that just would go through my mind and would remind me to keep my focus on the Lord. We will be praying for them and checking back for updates on her progress.
Thank you, Jennifer, for sharing. What a difficult trial but so wonderful that you have come through and can see how God used it all for His glory. I am sure your testimony will be encouraging to Christopher and Anna Marie.
