Thank you all so much for praying. I’m very grateful for your sweet love and support. The surgery went well without complications, and Ellie’s recovering well. We’re heading out to pick her up. Yay!

    1. It is such a blessing to have her back home. Wow, I didn’t imagine what a turn things would take when I left the house Wednesday. I’m very grateful for your prayers.

  10. Such a relief! I know Ellie will be so happy to be home, just as you must feel so relieved and thankful to have her back home. I pray for her to have a full recovery and to get back to feeling herself once again. Praising the Lord for this good outcome after such a scare. Hope you will be able to rest easier tonight.     1. Yes, she’s happy to be back, but I think I even more so! The vet and staff were amazing to work with. Now to nurse her back to health and keep her low-key for about 10 days. 🙂

  13. Aw…. Sarah, dogs are soooo special. I have lab and her sweet face reminds me of Ellie? Don’t you love the way they follow you everywhere. They just want to be with you…. I’m glad she’s back and hope she recovers soon. Prayers for you.

    1. Yes, especially when she was younger, people would ask if she was a lab or what kind of dog she was. English Creams are getting more common but still not “common.” She’s pretty mellow right now but getting plenty of care. 🙂

  14. God cares for His little animals doesn’t He? Ellie’s softness is a picture of His mighty soft and tender, gentle love toward us, and her frailty a reminder of His greatness.

    So glad your little girl is safe at home with you again – I pray it won’t be long until she is herself again…

    She’s obviously in good hands!

    1. Yes, he does. God knows even when a sparrow falls to the ground. Ellie’s high maintenance at the moment since her bandage is now off. That part only happened with some moral support while I removed it. Rough stuff.

    How is she doing?

    1. She’s recovering slowly. She became lethargic overnight, so we took her back into the vet this morning. But her white blood count is improving, so that’s good!

  16. So glad Ellie is now home. I have teacup chi’s so I can’t even imagine taking care of a dog Ellie’s size post surgery. I’m thinking that would be a handful!

  17. Ohhh, Sarah, my heart just broke for you and Ellie as I read what she’s been going through! It’s reassuring to know God is so aware that He’s noticing even the sparrows; He cares for His creatures. I’ll pray she is back to feeling perky and energetic soon and has no lingering after effects of the illness. SO glad you have her back! I’m sure she’s a million times more calm and comfortable at home than at the vet’s. 🙂

    1. Thank you. It’s been a rough ride, but there have been great opportunities to lean more on the Lord! Yes, the thought of His care for sparrows has definitely been on my mind.

  18. Oh my goodness, Sarah! I didn’t see either of these posts till just now! I’m so glad she’s okay! It always scares me when out dog doesn’t act right and I don’t understand why! Thank God she’s okay.
