Happy Mother’s Day | 2019

Happy Mother’s Day to our incredible mom! Mom tirelessly pours herself first into her family and then into other women around the world. She’s the dedicated wife to Dad for almost 45 years, Mom to 8 adult kids, and Grandma to a growing tribe.

This lady is truly the real deal. Serving quietly in the background, meeting needs, and looking out for others’ interests. Proverbs 31:27: “She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.”

Mom’s driven and diligent. She pours her heart into what is before her. My Delight is the most recent example of that.

Happy Mother’s Day also to my sisters-in-law: Melanie (who is still hanging in there with Baby!), Anna Marie, Elissa, and Chelsy!

To those of you who have lost a little one this past year or a loved one, please know we care and are very sorry for that loss.

Happy Mother’s Day!

A special note from Mom (Teri) to all you mothers: Happy Mother’s Day! Bless you, dear moms, as you faithfully serve your families, investing your all in them. They may not always, or even ever, give you the gratitude you deserve, but the Lord knows every sacrifice you make for them.

As a grandmother looking back on my mothering days, I don’t regret all the time I spent with my children–reading to them, playing with them, working with them, teaching them. I do regret times I was impatient or frustrated with them. On Mother’s Day, may I encourage you to be grateful for every minute the Lord gives you with your children and use your time positively and purposefully. — Teri

  1. Happy Mother’s Day, Teri! You’ve been a blessing.

And Sarah, thank you for the thought. This year has been so hard! While some things are going good-welcome distractions-, the deeper things have been a true struggle. Thank you for thinking of us, and anyone else in our shoes right now! Love, Rebecca

  2. Happy Mother’s day,

dear Teri and thank you for the advices!

  3. Happy Mother’s Day, Teri. Thank you for being such an encouragement in the Lord. Your service to your family and others in the body of Christ is a testimony to God’s faithfulness in a life that is yielded to Him.

  5. Happy Mother’s Day, Teri.

Something I appreciate about your work that I’m using this very day is from your “Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit” book… You gave the idea of writing down worries and fears, and addressing them with truth, each one.

I have found some awesome Scriptures today using that tool.
One which is staying with me is, that Jesus provides a way out of escape from every temptation 🙂 So there’s no excuse for saying “I just can’t love people because I’m tired!!” (Philippians 4:13)

God bless you thousands! May grace be multiplied to you for all the mothering-from-a-distance as well as with your own family.

    love Sarah

    1. Happy belated Mother’s Day, Sarah. How wonderful that you are going to the Word and finding Scripture to combat untruths in your mind. Thank you for sharing! That’s an encouragement to all of us!

  6. Though I am not a mom, your mom’s message really resonated with me: I never regret being kind and patient with anyone, enjoying the company of a loved one, or making an effort to respond with kindness even when I’m frustrated; I do regret being short with people or responding out of anger. This doesn’t mean I need to beat myself up, but it does mean that I CAN do better. My own wonderful mom always reminded me that “changed behavior is the best apology,” and “when you know better, do better.” (She would be the first to admit she did not come up with either of those wise sayings, but I appreciate her passing them on!) Thank you and happy Mothers Day!

  7. Thank you Teri, God bless you! I love you, you are such a good woman and such a blessing to so many and myself!

  8. Happy Mother’s Day Teri, Melanie, Anna Marie, Elissa, and Chelsy! Also Happy Mother’s Day to Gigi, I enjoyed the posts of the mulching party and taking down her porch. She is blessed to have family to help her.

  9. Thank you Mrs. Maxwell for these wonderful reminders for me and my role as a mother. Thank you for setting a godly example for your family as well as for me.
