Happy 8th Anniversary, Christopher and Anna Marie!

L-R: Joshua, Ruthanne, Lydia, Daniel, Christopher, Anna Marie, and Elizabeth Maxwell

Happy 8th Anniversary to my brother, Christopher, and his sweet wife, Anna Marie! It’s exciting to see the Lord’s blessing upon their lives over these past 8 years. Their glowing family is proof enough (see above 🙂 ).

I’d love to hear from some of our readers who have been following their journey since their courtship and marriage 8 years ago.

Serving Jesus,
Sarah

“Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them:
they shall not be ashamed,
but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.”
Psalm 127:5

  1. What a beautiful couple and family!!!

Well done to you both, keeping your eyes on the Lord and reaping the rewards.

You’re a lovely sister in law and sister, Sarah.

  2. Happy anniversary, Christpher and Anna Marie!

It is truly an encouragement and a blessing to have followed your walk with the Lord as a family since the very beginning.
You both are very inspiring, and your growing family is simply beautiful.

Many blessings and all the best for a glorious and God-filled future!

    Alice

  3. I’ve followed them since they began their relationship as they started their relationship around the same time as my husband and I. We’ve now been married 6.5 years and have a 15 month old.

  4. Me! I remember! I have enjoyed watching their family grow (in grace as well as numbers!) over the years. Such a blessing! Happy Anniversary!

  5. Happy Anniversary!
I started following just after they got married.
They whole family looks so happy and the matching jumpers are so cute.

    1. Thank you, Nicole. They are a cute, happy family, and Anna Marie does well in their matching clothes. Usually on Sundays, she has matched or color coordinated the girls and usually Christopher and the boys will have their own matching colors. If it is blues, they will all be color coordinated!

  6. I honestly don’t remember their courtship, even though I’ve been around that long. I do remember watching the wedding with our son. We loved showing him every example of godly courtship and marriage that we had access to. I’ve always loved Anna Marie’s sweet smile. One of the things I used to tell my son was to pay attention to a girl’s countenance. Anyone can be cheerful when things are going their way, but it’s important to find a mate who can have a good attitude in the good and bad. Anna Marie strikes me as that type. She also clearly loves to sew for her family. I do too, but I think she has more talent than I!

  7. Wonderful picture of this wonderful family. I have loved following their journey. They are always helping others. So happy for them.

  8. I remember the announcement of their courtship, engagement and wedding like it was yesterday. They haven’t aged a bit…even with the responsibility of five kiddos.

    1. Hi Jody, seems like yesterday to me as well and yet so much has happened in these eight years with those five little ones to prove it! Won’t they love to read that they don’t look like they have aged during these years of marriage?

  9. I have been following their courtship and marriage, and have been blessed by their focus on the Lord and love for Jesus. As a wife and mom myself, Anna Marie’s patience and perseverance with joy is particularly a blessing and daily goal to work toward – all with the Lord’s help, of course. 🙂

    1. I also like to watch the young people from homeschooled families who choose courtship and then see their lives progress with having children and then those children growing up. I know it will encourage Anna Marie to know she has been an encouragement to you!

  10. I too remember right back to the announcement of their courtship! Anna Marie has always looked radiant!
I was not able to watch the live-stream of their wedding, as it was about 10am Sunday morning our time (New Zealand), and we had to leave for our church meeting – it seemed like a long wait to see the photos, but they were absolutely beautiful!

I’ve been following your blog since Abigail was about two years old, after a friend forwarded a “Corners” e-mail to me and I visited the blog… it has been my favourite blog ever since!

  11. I have been around since before their courtship. We loved watching their wedding and remember it so well. It was the most beautiful Christ-honoring wedding I had ever “attended”. 🙂 Shell

  12. Happy Anniversary, Christopher and Anna! I randomly discovered your blog shortly after they got married, and I’ve been a reader ever since. What a sweet family picture. I love all that blond hair!

  13. Happy Anniversary! Does she sew the dresses? If so, would love to maybe see a post from her or any other members of your sweet family on sewing and the patterns used. May God bless you!

    1. Anna Marie made those dresses, I believe. I heard she was finishing hers up just before the photo session, but I didn’t talk to her about that. I am guessing she had previously made the little girls. Often she is making the new jumpers for the oldest girl since the younger ones are growing into their older sister’s jumpers. I think Anna Marie has that plan since she has enough fabric to keep making jumpers as Ruth Anna and Lydia grow.

  14. I’ve been following your blog just a bit before Christopher and Anna Marie we’re married. I’ve really enjoyed watching the kids grow. They’re so precious! We share an Anniversary with them ours is today also, 14 years for us! Happy Anniversary, you two are really blessed!!! God bless!!

  15. Happy Anniversary Christopher & Anna Marie! Your courtship and wedding was a wonderful testimony of God’s faithfulness and many blessings in your life. In the last 8 years of following along on the blog, it has been neat seeing your testimony for the Lord grow even more into a strong Christ centered marriage and family. As a wife and mother of 5 little ones myself, Anna Marie has been a sweet and godly example/encouragement to me through your blog. Her life beautifully displays the Proverbs 31 woman.

    1. You do have a lot in common with Anna Marie, don’t you, Sarah, with five little ones of your own. I know it will please Anna Marie that she has been able to encourage you through what you see of her on our blog.

  16. Happy Anniversary to Christopher and Anna Marie!
I remember following your family blog as they went through a courtship, and then I was so happy to view their wedding on my computer as it was streamed. I was still recuperating from 4 spinal surgeries at that time, and sitting at my kitchen table viewing their sweet ceremony on my laptop was so uplifting. 🙂
I pray the Lord blesses this precious couple and their sweet children in all the years to come. They set a wonderful example!
    Love, Mrs. Patti 🙂

    1. Wow, Patti Jo, has it been 8 years since your back surgeries? Glad the wedding could pass a little of all that recuperation time. Thank you for your prayers for Christopher and Anna Marie.

  17. Happy Anniversary!! They are a blessing and Anna Marie has encouraged me too, even before meeting her. I love seeing their little children and how the Lord has grown their family. You can certainly see the Presence of the Lord on them. I pray they have many blessings and years to come!

  18. 8 years already?! Oh my word. I remember their courtship through the blog and waiting for the posts of the wedding pictures. That was a very special wedding. So many things have changed in our lives since that year. And Christopher and Anna Marie’s children are adorable! Happy anniversary, you two. You’ve encouraged me that waiting for the right one CAN be done! Sometimes it feels like forever, but your example encouraged me that it is worth the wait! God bless.

    Love, Rebecca

  19. I’ve been following your family for at least 12 years since my family saw you speak in Ottawa (maybe you will remember the date better!)

Congratulations on 8 years of marriage to you and your family!!!

  20. Happy anniversary! Wow 8 years and 5 blessings, God is good! Beautiful family. May God bless their family with many more years and children.

    Blessings

  21. Wow 8 years? It seemed like you just got married. I remember seeing the pictures of the wedding. Congratulations on 8 years!

  22. It has been so lovely to see their family grow. Until this post I had never thought about how long I had been following your family. I watched their wedding through the live stream.

  23. I think I started following the blog just after the engagement. I thought it was lovely that your friends at the nursing home were able to watch the live stream and enjoy wedding cake on Christopher and Anna Marie’s special day. Congratulations to you all !

    1. Oh, I loved that part of it, too, the involvement of our nursing home church friends. It was Christopher and Anna Marie’s idea to have the cake here that could be out and served at the nursing home after the wedding live stream. We were grateful that all the technology worked that day!

  24. Happy 8th Anniversary, Christopher and Anna Marie! The Lord has given you such a beautiful family, each glowing with the warm love of Christ! Did you sew your dresses? Wow! Lovely indeed! Press on for Christ and His glory!
You are truly “a chosen vessel unto (the Lord)” (Acts 9:15).
    With love in Jesus Christ.

  25. happy anniversary to anna marie & christopher. anna marie is amazing (even though i don’t know her personally)… being a wife and mother, homeschooling, homemaker, and sewing … wow! amazing.

  26. I have been following your blog for many years now. We were in the US (missionaries in Eastern Europe at the time) and went to a homeschool convention where we I attended your meeting about scheduling the days. I homeschooled and sent our children to local public schools for language and culture. I have used that scheduling book for years and shared it with many others. Thank you for sharing how life works for you and your love of and reliance on Jesus, too. Blessings to Christopher and Anna!

  27. God’s continued blessings on your marriage and family! I love reading about your family, it is very encouraging. I also really love seeing the posts about baking and homemaking. Is there a chance in the coming weeks that all the Maxwell ladies could share their favorite Christmas recipe?
