A Barbecue at John and Chelsy’s!

Recently, John and Chelsy invited all the family over for a big cookout. Friends were visiting them, so I believe we numbered almost 30! We started off the evening with some relaxed games, and then John grilled hotdogs. Although the weather happened to be a bit warm, those who needed to found shade, while the others just got a little sun and played spike ball, croquet, and corn hole. At any given time, there were many conversations going on. After dinner, we opened God’s Word and had an awesome Bible time.

We’re so blessed by enjoying outdoor activities again now that a warmer season is upon us.

Chelsy is an awesome hostess: she’s efficient and organized!

This was a little-kid-try-to-play-Spike-ball thing.

Myself, Kyle, Anna, and Benjamin (aren’t Kyle’s eyes strikingly cute?!)

“When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers,
the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
What is man, that thou art mindful of him?
and the son of man, that thou visitest him?”
Psalm 8:3-4

  1. Wonderful pics! Kyle looks so much like Calia at that age to me. Love this time of year, when the weather allows for lots of outdoors fun and living!

  2. Looks like y’all had a great time! Kyle is so adorable! Haha, it’s interesting hearing what different get togethers are called around the country! Where I come from, a barbecue is a cookout, but no hotdogs; it’s barbecue sandwiches;) I love the uniqueness of the different regions! We live in the South and one of my brother-in-laws lives in Maryland, so we’ve gotten to experience first hand regional lingo differences! Love it!

    1. Ryana,

      That is interesting. I wouldn’t have guessed that about the barbecue sandwiches. πŸ™‚ Yes, I love the diversity of our country!

  3. It looks like such a fun day! It is always nice when you show your days and pictures, it always makes me wish we were there! I am so happy you keep with this blog, I’ve read it for years and hardly comment, I think your impacting more people than you realize! It is always such a welcome joy and refreshing to see your family and gives me a renewed joy of enjoying the days!

  4. Sarah –

    You got some darling pictures of the grandchildren. The are all adorable.

  5. John and Chelsy have done a very good job on hosting this as it looks like you all had a great time. How are the newlyweds doing? Is their house all finished now?

    1. They’re doing well! No, their house isn’t finished but Chelsy has done an incredible job of making it look so cozy as it’s in process.
