Happy Mother’s Day to our sweet mom! I thought a special twist on this year’s post would be to share some pictures over the years of Mom.
Mothering definitely costs. It is the sacrifice of yourself. And my mom displayed that beautifully.
Mom and me in Florida.
Nathan, Christopher, and I look pretty charming here, but there was a reason after three, Dad and Mom thought they should be done.
I’m quite confident you didn’t know my mom made amazing cakes.
Mom invested so much in us: making days special, going on fieldtrips and to the park, countless hours of wonderful read-aloud times, giving us an amazing education, baking with us, and the list goes on.
Here’s proof Mom liked cats way back in the day. I had a cat ((Ginger)) who had kittens, and although I don’t remember much about it all, my mom loved those kittens.
The Lord changed my parents’ hearts regarding children–and they realized the Lord should be in control of the womb. Here’s their first reversal blessing, Joseph, pictured above.
The growing Maxwell family.
Even when it took extra time, Mom included her littles as she worked in the kitchen.
After Mary was born.
Feeding the ducks with Mary.
While these cuties look charming, they were quite the handful! 🙂
Mom has invested countless hours over the years with the Titus2 ministry, and the impact she’s had on ladies’ lives will only be measured in Heaven. I’m confident of that!
Mom with her girls, Mary, Anna, and Sarah
All eight of the Maxwell young people: the fruit of a job well done!
Mom’s favorite place to be: the mountains!
Jump forward to enjoying the blessings of grandchildren! LOVE this group!
“Her children arise up, and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praiseth her.”
Proverbs 31:28
Happy Mother’s Day to our sweet, sweet Mom. We can never thank you enough for your love and care for us!
Happy Mother’s Day to my sisters-in-law: Melanie, Anna Marie, and Elissa. You are great mommies to your little ones!
It is so nice that you share such lovely memories with us. That first one has got to be my favourite, and the “In the Mountains” one close behind.
I noticed in my literal translation of Titus 2 recently that the translator wrote “train the young women…” and now just reading in my NKJV, “admonish the young women…” – when I read it, it made me appreciate in a fresh way the work that Teri does, working to TEACH, yes, which is the term I am familiar with, but also to guide and be alongside many Mums (kiwi word!). Teaching, training, admonishing… thanks for your continual encouragements to run the race with endurance, looking to the prize.
Love is indeed the greatest gift.
May God bless you Sarah
Blessings in Christ
I was very blessed to walk down memory lane with Sarah’s post. I am grateful that you are encouraged by what the Lord allows me to share of His wonderful work in my life.
Oh Sarah,
Thank you for blessing us with such a beautiful lot of photos!
You girls are all so like your Mum. ( Yes we say Mum with a u)!
It’s not Mothers day today in the UK (ours is in March) but to all you Mums over there,
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!
Xxxxxxxxxxx
Claire, those photos blessed me so much, too, and I know it took a long time for Sarah to put them together.
That verse in Proverbs is one of my favorites! It’s great to see old pictures, I love the matching jumpers! Did you make them? I’d love to have the pattern.
Yes, we made those jumpers. That was quite a few years ago. I doubt that pattern would still be available now.
Happy Mother’s Day! I’m so glad you allowed the Lord to bless you with more children. My parents had stopped after two because doctors said they were incompatible and having more would be difficult and selfish. But after four years, my parents were able to leave it to the Lord. Their next child was a miscarriage which really tested their faith, but God had plans…I was born 5 years and 2 months after my older living sister. There are seven of us here on earth and five waiting for us in heaven! Twelve! And there would only be two but for the grace of God! Thank God for Mothers who trust the Lord and surrender everything to His perfect will.
Thank you. What a wonderful story and testimony. Thank you for sharing.
Oh, I just love these photos!! Anna looks so much like your Mom! The impact your Mom has had on my life and our family over the years is reaping beautiful fruit here too. Blessings to you, Teri! Happy Mother’s Day!
Thank you. We often refer to Anna at “Little T” because she looks so much like me. Praise the Lord for the work He is doing in your life, and I have joy that He would let me be part of that through the testimony of His work in my own life.
Loved looking at old pictures of the family!!! You are truly blessed! Happy Mother’s Day Mrs. Maxwell.
Thank you. I am a very, very blessed mom.
Thank you for compiling this post. Your mom has been such a blessing and encouragement to so many. She has always been transparent about her struggles and allowed the power of God to be magnified in her triumphs. It is amazing how much some of the grandkids resemble you all as littles. How sweet to see this retrospective post end with the blessing of godly grandchildren. Happy Mother’s Day to the Maxwell mommies.
I am grateful to Sarah, too, for her work to bless me with this Mother’s Day post. Happy Mother’s Day, Kim. Thank you for the e-card, too.
Happy Mother’s Day Mrs.
Maxwell !! You are so blessed! Nice pictures!
I am truly, truly blessed beyond measure. Thank You, Jesus!
Thank you, Sarah, for the adorable trip down memory lane!
Happy Mother’s Day, Teri! Although we’ve never met, you’re one of the people God has used to make me the person I am today.
Thank you, Lisa. I had a wonderful Mother’s Day. My family goes overboard to bless me! I am blessed as well that the Lord would let me be part of what He is doing in your life.
This was beautiful! What a lovely woman your mom is! A true Godly example. Happy Mother’s Day to her and all the mothers in your family!
I think all the moms in our family had a great Mother’s Day, including Gigi, my mom, who went to church with us, had lunch with us, and came back for the family gathering in the evening.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the Maxwell mommies. You all were blessed with a great mom.
Thank you, Alanna. You are blessed with a great mom too. I am sure you made her day special.
Happy Mother’s Day! It is so sweet to see these pictures! Thank you for pouring into the lives of others, Mrs. Maxwell! You have certainly blessed me and I am so grateful.
Thank you, Dessiree. So glad you get to celebrate Mother’s Day with a precious, little one-year old.
Cute post! I’m pretty sure that must be Joshua in pic 3 on the left and Tina in pic 4 up front! So neat to see how the littles now resemble the littles from back then! Oh and if the Lord chooses to bless Anna with children, we know what she will look like when she’s expecting!!
LOL!!
Happy Mothers Day to all of the Maxwell mommy’s!
We are so close to the grandchildren and see them so often, the I haven’t noticed those resemblances. I am going to go back and at look at the pictures with that perspective. Thank you.
This is such a beautiful post honoring your mother. I love the “silly” pictures that show how your mother worked hard to make life fun for you guys.
I did not know that your mom made cakes, does she still bake cakes anymore?
I agree, Hope, about what a beautiful post Sarah put together. It was such a blessing to me. No cake decorating for me any more, but Sarah sure made a cute cake last week. Maybe a post coming on that activity soon.
Truely Beautiful!!!!
Thank you, Teri, for being like a mother to me also! Thank you for your encouragement and help through the past 15 or so years!!
Thank you, Cyndi, for your encouragement, and you are more than welcome. I owe so much to my Lord Jesus for what He has done in my life, and what joy it brings me that He would take this broken vessel and remold it into something He could use in other’s lives.
Those were wonderful, Sarah! Thank you 🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed them! 🙂
Such a sweet post! I can see how Mrs Maxwell looks a lot like you, Sarah when she was younger! 🙂
Yes, we do look similar! 🙂
Teri,
I have been learning from you since 2001! I continue being blessed by your wisdom and kindness. God bless you and your sweet family.
I loved this peek into the past! What a wonderful testimony you are, Teri, and such a Godly mother. Even though Mother’s Day was a week ago, I’m sending you a gentle hug! 🙂
