Spring is Here

Spring is here. I believe I can say that with confidence now. Yes, the calendar showed the first day being back in March, but wow, we had three Sundays in a row this month with SNOW! I’m all the more grateful for this amazing season after winter hung around longer than normal.

Saturday was a picture-perfect day. That vivid blue sky, sunshine which felt warm but not hot, trees bursting out with green, and the redbuds with their lush purple flowers made a beautiful spring package! We took advantage of the nice weather to enjoy some outside activities. Besides a run for some and a walk for others, we washed and vacuumed cars, and Mary and Dad tackled carpeting our entryway. Oh, and yard work too.

To end the day, what could be better than homemade pizza? We missed Anna, but she was traveling for the weekend.

The beginning out of the project.

“And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business,
and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you.”
1 Thessalonians 4:11

  1. Five of us washed the car together today too! πŸ™‚ And seeing I’ve got a week off homeschooling I took the chance to tile around the bathroom basin. So glad to have that done.

The carpet squares look like an excellent way to floor an area DIY.

I love your description of the spring weather. In New Zealand we are enjoying the autumn colours.

“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your heart, as to the Lord, and not to men” – Colossians 3:23 from this morning’s reading.

    Thanks for your continual encouragements!

  2. Yes! Spring, finaly!
Were up farther north and had snow and or ice 13 of the first 19 days of April! We were just about going crazy!

  3. Homemade pizza is the best! It has become our family tradition to make it on Friday nights! I have thoroughly enjoyed trying different recipes for crusts. Do you have a favorite one you’d be willing to share? “O TASTE and SEE that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him.” – Psalm 34:8.

  4. Hope Anna has a nice trip and can update us on her travels! I love travelogue blogs and it would be nice to see one from a non-secular source!

  5. Homemade pizza is my favorite reward after a day of hard work πŸ™‚ My sweetie makes the BEST homemade pizza, and I really want to up my own pizza making game so he doesn’t have to make it every time (not that he minds of course!) I would LOVE to know what recipe you use, because that looks delicious! (And your apron is so pretty!)

  6. My two little boys have been loving this weather – they just loving running around outside and exploring. It’s been such a blessing after being stuck inside for so long. πŸ™‚

Where is Anna off traveling? Is she going with any other family?

  7. Yay!! So glad to see spring here, too! Except it seems that here in Tennessee it just went straight to summer πŸ˜‰
Sarah, you’re apron is soo pretty! Love the fabric!

  8. I love homemade pizza — ordering out is absurdly expensive! I am still experimenting trying to find a good dough recipe that compares to restaurant favorites, so I buy Boboli out of sheer frustration! It is fun to buy personal-sized crusts and do a pizza bar, though, so everyone gets what they want. I hope you’ll share your dough/crust recipe!

  9. That looks like a lovely time! Projects are so satisfying and hard work is such a blessing! Did Mrs. Maxwell (Teri) get a hair cut? That style also looks nice on my mother-in-law. I hope you all are having a blessed day!

  10. Those are the best kind of days, when it’s sunny and warm, but not hot! Lovely pictures πŸ™‚

  11. The pizza looks so yummy! I’ve never actually made a homemade pizza crust, would you mind sharing what recipe you use?

  12. I think in Louisiana, spring got here in February and now summer is here! where was Anna going? with another family?
