Thank You and Peek into the Day

Your birthday comments added a sparkle to my day! Thank you for taking the time to leave a message. I’m the one grateful for YOU.

God has been gracious and enriched my life with a loving family, ministry opportunities, and plenty to do. I’m excited to see this year unfold, and at the moment, I’m brainstorming and plotting a new book.

To see a peek at my birthday, enjoy the pictures below! I don’t know how my sweet family continues to come up with creative ideas to make birthdays so special, but they do.

Love,
Sarah

Anna is amazing to come up with great birthday WODs every year. Some of my favorite workouts!
So grateful for warmer weather after very cold days for quite awhile!
Anna and Mary took me to a local coffee shop where we had a delightful time, including several games of Settlers!

We split a donut, and wow, totally delicious!
Our town held a candlelight vigil to commemorate the Roe vs. Wade decision. A sobering time to cry out to the Lord for our nation!

Anna gave me a basket with baking items, including these adorable aprons.
Love Eddie Bauer down vests!
Arnold had to be in the middle of everything, because paper is a fascination of his.
My lil’ helper!
We ended the night with my new game. Guess who is home? Yep! The newlyweds! Enjoying having them back and around!

“Wait on the Lord, and keep his way,
and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land …”
Psalm 37:34

  1. Looks like a fun party! I love the aprons! And Calia got one to match? Did Anna make those? Storm has one very much like it but is purchased.
In the donut picture the light above your head looks like a crown!! Cool!
You three girls split a donut? One donut? Between the three of you? Well, I hope you got the biggest piece since it was your bday!! LOL!

    Blessings,
    Johnna

    1. Anna bought the aprons. Well, the little one is for whichever little one helps me bake! 🙂 I did get the bigger portion, but I at first turned down the option of a donut. I already had had a bountiful amount of sweets, but hey, a little more was awesome!

  2. What is your new game??? We love playing games!!! So much that there were 3 new Monopoly games given for Christmas!!!! (each of course was a different theme), plus a new Dominos set and wooden Battleship!
    {{welcome home,newlyweds!}}

  3. Aww what a special Birthday!! I’m so glad you were blessed because you are always blessing others. Is that a dark chocolate covered donut? Looks delicious. So sweet to see the newlyweds back!

  4. A little late, but want to say a big: Happy Birthday, Sarah!! What a fun and special day! Blessed by your sweet smile and example. May this be the most wonderful year yet as you continue to seek and serve the Lord with joy!
    With a smile,
    Melanie

  5. We’ve discovered there’s no need to buy cat toys! A box or two, some tissue paper, a paper bag and a couple pony tail holders and our cats are entertained for DAYS!! Arnold is so handsome…I’m so glad your family adopted him!

  6. Happy Birthday!! Did they make your age out of mini candies? That’s such a fun idea and I’m definitely going to do it for the next Birthday in my house! How do you create a Birthday WOD? We have a home gym too so that would be fun. Your fave exercises with your age as the number of reps?

    1. Actually, even better than making my age, they gave me a whole bag of those little mini mints! 🙂 For a birthday WOD, Anna takes the birthday person’s new age, and then she figures out a workout based on that. Let me tell you, you feel the age by the time you get to the end of it! She grabs a mixture of exercises that will be cardio, strength, etc. I got a BOSU for Christmas, so she incorporated that.

      1. That is so sweet! The WOD tradition sounds so fun. I’ll be 36 on my next birthday, I need to take the next few months to work up to my age on some things! I love working out on a BOSU!

  7. I love your apron, Sarah. Good job with the workout! I am looking forward to your next book, I really enjoyed the other ones. You are very good at writing good Christian books.
    Blessings,
    Emmanuelle

  8. Coffee, doughnuts, games, and a fun WOD? That sounds like my idea of a perfect birthday! (I don’t like cake very much, so we always do “birthday doughnuts” for mine instead. This year I had a maple one that was out of this world! I always try to try a new flavor whenever we travel as well, so if you need any coffee/doughnut recommendations next time you’re on the road I’m happy to recommend! ) Glad you had a nice birthday, and hope the rest of your year is just as nice ?

  9. My 8 year old sister April walks over while I’m looking at this post: “It’s her birthday?” Me: “It was, yes.”
    April: “Aww!”
She adores you and the Moody books 🙂 <3 <3 <3 You have no idea how many comments she's made about the books + characters + you after we read and just randomly through life! 😀

  10. Ahhh!!! I love all these photos. The coffee looks great and I absolutely love the picture of you and your unwrapping assistant. <3 What a fantastic day!!
