Family Times with the Newlyweds–John and Chelsy

We’ve enjoyed great family times with the newlyweds! They invited some of us over for when they opened presents. We loved seeing the creativity and generosity people showered on them.

Anna gave them a box full of Christmas decorations as her wedding gift. So creative!
This was my favorite one as far as the presentation goes.

Then, only a few days later, they had a big birthday party for John. Chelsy’s one incredible hostess. Here she’d been home from their honeymoon less than a week, and she hosted over 20 people in their still-in-progress home. She’s made it the coziest place already!

This photo with Drew is pretty epic. If you look closely, he and Tina are playing tug.

they shall praise the LORD that seek him:
your heart shall live for ever.

I’m really excited to share with you that we’re giving an Energize Family Conference, February 23-24th in Ft. Smith, Arkansas!

You’ll be encouraged in practical areas of managing the home, dads leading their families, keeping your children’s hearts, preparing your children for life, and yes, awesome times to fellowship with other believers. Check out the schedule and a PDF flyer here.

We’ve obtained a special group rate at a local hotel, so if you want to stay where all of us out-of-town folks will be, please reserve your room while there is availability. Just go to our conference page, and near the bottom, we have a section titled Lodging with the info.

Thank You and Peek into the Day

Your birthday comments added a sparkle to my day! Thank you for taking the time to leave a message. I’m the one grateful for YOU.

God has been gracious and enriched my life with a loving family, ministry opportunities, and plenty to do. I’m excited to see this year unfold, and at the moment, I’m brainstorming and plotting a new book.

To see a peek at my birthday, enjoy the pictures below! I don’t know how my sweet family continues to come up with creative ideas to make birthdays so special, but they do.

Love,
Sarah

Anna is amazing to come up with great birthday WODs every year. Some of my favorite workouts!
So grateful for warmer weather after very cold days for quite awhile!
Anna and Mary took me to a local coffee shop where we had a delightful time, including several games of Settlers!

We split a donut, and wow, totally delicious!
Our town held a candlelight vigil to commemorate the Roe vs. Wade decision. A sobering time to cry out to the Lord for our nation!

Anna gave me a basket with baking items, including these adorable aprons.
Love Eddie Bauer down vests!
Arnold had to be in the middle of everything, because paper is a fascination of his.
My lil’ helper!
We ended the night with my new game. Guess who is home? Yep! The newlyweds! Enjoying having them back and around!

and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land …”

Help for the Time Pressured Homeschool Mom!

To kick-start your week, we want to share a video Teri did to encourage moms. Let’s face it. Homeschool moms have a ton on their plate. Teri’s experienced what it’s like to homeschool multiple grades, manage babies and toddlers, and still keep the house in order. Those days weren’t easy, but the Lord gave her grace and creativity to fit in what she needed to do.

Please share this video with others you think would enjoy it. Just click the little paper airplane icon in the upper right of the video.

“I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children,
guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary
to speak reproachfully.”
1 Timothy 5:14

Happy Birthday Sarah

Happy Birthday, Sarah. We love you.

Sarah, you bless so many by your ongoing, day-to-day investment in them. Your perseverance and determination are so appreciated. Even though it costs what you want to do, you are always investing in solving issues others are happy not to deal with.

Thank you for writing for children. They (and their moms) tell us how much they love your books and want more.

We love you and appreciate you.

Little known facts about Sarah:

  • Sarah hardly ever skips a workout.
  • Sarah loves coffee and chocolate. (That’s probably well known not little known:).)
  • Sarah began a tradition of getting the birthday person’s favorite mini-candy bars and putting them in the shape of the birthday person’s age on the living room floor on their birthday.
  • In order to help develop her writing skills, Sarah often reads out loud to Anna and Mary before they go to sleep.

“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.” (Proverbs 31:10)
