A Great Hike

Friday was another picture perfect day. Cool temperatures in the morning but then warming up. We drove up to the Continental Divide and hiked. It was the best temperature ever we’ve experienced there. We loved exploring and just enjoying the scenery. We hiked for several hours, with plentiful sunshine, mountains surrounding us, and amazing company.

At one point, we found a little glacier pond, and Anna decided to go wading. I tried, but the water was horribly cold, and I didn’t make it long. The girls convinced me to try again, and the key Anna told me is to just to stand still, through the intense cold and pain, and then you stop feeling the pain. Well, it worked!

After we got back to the cabin, we went to town, enjoyed great internet access, coffee, and volleyball for us kids!

Trying to get into position for a photo. It wasn’t working too well.
This pose worked better.

When I just couldn’t stand it.

“Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
And in that day shall ye say,
Praise the Lord, call upon his name,
declare his doings among the people,
make mention that his name is exalted.”
Isaiah 12:3-4
