Dropping in to give y’all a report of the first two evenings at the Leavenworth County Fair!
Opening night, Dad and I were the support team, so we walked around and handed out cards and told people where the face painting + balloons were. I loved seeing children’s excitement as they want to hurry to get to the booth! Opening night was also parade night, which afforded us great opportunities to hand out cards to those waiting.

Occasionally, we’d go check on the girls, and when the line was long, we knew we’d better take a break on the cards. I enjoyed talking to moms while they waited, and I especially loved meeting a blog reader Tuesday night. Super sweet lady! Christopher also came for part of the evening with Joshua, and Christopher helped Anna out with balloon twisting.

The next night, it rained, so there were less people over all at the fair. John handed out cards, while I stayed in, but you know the amazing part? The girls’ line stayed steady all night! Perhaps because the rain kept more people inside?

Anna and Mary work steadily and faithfully. They love interacting with the children, and they also love to delight them. What kid doesn’t like to get a cool face paint or an awesome balloon?
Please continue in prayer for tonight and then tomorrow as we wrap up the fair. Pray for opportunities to share Jesus and continue to shine His light. We’ve already been blessed to have some great talks about the Lord with many folks!
Love,
Sarah
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the
power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;
to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)
I am sure you are popular with free balloons and face painting. Our kids always want to get their faces painted, but it is so expensive. It is definitely an idea I am keeping in mind for ministry for our family.
Thanks for the encouragement.
Awwwwww looks like a wonderful time y’ll had! Good job Anna and Mary! You girls did a great job 🙂 Beautiful pictures too!
Thanks, Emily, and thank you for your comments!
Thanks for sharing! Great work on both the balloons and the face painting. Mary is a talented artist!
Mary is really amazing! 🙂
Anna and Mary are both very talented in their prospective crafts. Really wonderful faces and balloons. What a great way to have time to visit with the parents as well.
Blessings,
J
Thanks!
You guys are doing awesome! Praise the Lord. The face painting and balloons look so professional!!
Thanks, Dessiree!
Dear Sarah,
I was wondering what kind of paints your sisters use. I would like to do a ministry like this at our local festival, and don’t want to waste our money on poor quality paints.
Blessings to you and your dear family,
Annemarie
Mary uses the brand Wolfe from Amazon. Here’s a link to a 12 color kit. You could try that, and if you like it, step up to the individual colors, like this one (which she uses). Those are Titus2’s Amazon Affiliate links, and you can read our disclosure here.
What a great ministry! Anna and Mary are so talented, and I can tell that they’ve spent many hours perfecting their crafts! Looks so professional!
Anna and Mary do so good. My siblings and I would love that! 🙂
May I ask how do you introduce Jesus Christ into the conversation with the adults and children?
Our goal is for each to leave with a tract.
