Maxwells’ Fourth of July Recap

We had a wonderful Independence Day! It’s sobering to think of the sacrifices the signers of the Declaration of Independence made. Do you realize that five gave their lives because of that act? Think about that for a moment. Where would we be without their courage? Doing what is right takes courage. It’s easy to go with the flow, but it’s an entirely different thing to go against it. Matthew 7:14: “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

Abby and Bethany came over to help prepare for the party
Dad grilled
Nathan, Benjamin, and Melanie!
I really need a wide angle lens. I decided this time to do half table shots!

Hmmm. What’s up with this Drew + Ellie contest with food?
Daniel is getting to be such a grown up little guy!

“Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.”
Matthew 5:7

  1. It looks like a fun day. Sarah, the picture of you and Ellie is just beautiful.

  2. Thanks for the pics. Ellie is beautiful. Just wondering, if any of the married couples continue to do the July 4th neighborhood breakfasts now?

    1. Nathan and Melanie did the July 4th neighborhood breakfasts for maybe two or three years, but I think it was the year Melanie was pregnant with Bethany, who was due in July, and having difficulty with pre-term labor that they weren’t able to do one. They haven’t done one since. Joseph and Elissa also did a small one the first year they were married with family and two neighbors, but they haven’t since then.

  3. Hello to the Maxwell family

It seems you had a wonderful day with you family. We are going to celebrate my country day soon : 14th July. I guess you call it “Bastille day”. It is important, in my humble opinion, to celebrate the day of freedom. All your little one are lovely, and Sarah picture with her nice dog is very sweet too. I have a question for Sarah : did you think about translating your books in another languages in order to sell them in other countries ? Of course, I am thinking of French 🙂 but maybe in Spanish, Italian or so.
    Blessings to your family

    1. Thank you, Virginie! It’s great to have you commenting! I appreciate your question on translating. Right now, I don’t have any plans for the Moody books to be translated, but maybe the Lord will lead on a future book!

  4. Happy belated Independence Day!
I like the Fourth of July clothes and decorations. We did the same thing!

    1. Personally, I have a hard time remembering to wear clothes that relate to the holiday’s colors. Usually I come out of the bedroom, see how the girls are dressed, and head back to my room to change into the “right” colors.
