Benjamin Maxwell’s Newborn Photos

Wednesday afternoon, Mary helped me with Benjamin’s newborn photos. Usually, it’s Christopher and me doing the photos, but this time, it ended up to be just me. So, since I don’t know the whole professional-light-set-up-the-living-room thing, we decided to use only natural light. It worked out perfectly.

The first key was wrapping him. You know that really cute swaddle? Babies love it, and it gets them nice and calm for their photos. And usually asleep. Well, I wasn’t any help with the wrapping part, and I’m grateful for Mary taking several tries at it until she had little Benjamin in a good wrap.

Usually, babies will sleep, but Benjamin decided to watch us for awhile. So sweet.

Love all that hair!

We were so happy to get this one.
Finally. Asleep.

  1. There is a lot of cuteness in this post! I love the pictures, great job!! That is quite the swaddle- way to go, Mary! He is a precious baby boy. Praise the Lord for His blessings of children.

You are always an encouragement! Thank you!

  2. Such sweet pics! My favorite is the one with Mom kissing baby. He has such a content look on his face. Good job, Sarah!

Thank you. BJ’s a little cuddle bug.

  3. Beautiful photos Sarah!

You are very talented – you should think about becoming a portrait photographer! Children and animals your specialty!

If I didn’t have anything else going, that would be interesting, but life is pretty full right now!

  4. Love that picture of all the kids!! I feel like we need more kiddy pictures, especially of the youngest ones. 🙂

Glad you enjoy them! I do my best on the pictures :).

  5. Sarah –

You are so talented! What great pictures of such a beautiful family. If you were only closer I would hire you in a New York minute to take pictures of our family.

My BIL is an orchestra conductor and he used to hold his youngest son on the one arm pose with his arms and legs hanging down. BIL would then swing him like he was conducting. My nephew just loved it. I think it worked out his gas and “rocked” him to sleep.

    Have a wonderful day –
    Cathie

Thanks. Family pictures are fun :).

  6. SARAH!!! These are sooooo beautiful! <3 Love the picture of all the kiddos! 🙂

Thanks, K, and thanks for your comment. Hope y’all are doing well!

  7. Hi Sarah,

    Thank-you for sharing these.

The last one really spoke to me about how we should rest on the Lord – in complete trust that He will support us and hold us fast. Psalm 139:10

That’s a beautiful picture tied to Scripture–thank you for pointing that out!
