Serving In Denver

God’s been tremendously blessing our time here in Denver serving with Operation Christmas Child. It’s been such an awesome time! We’ll give a full report with more pictures later, but I wanted to leave with you with a sneak preview.

We are also enjoying wonderful fellowship with friends we’re staying with.

Happy 40th Birthday to My Big Brother

Today is a very special day. It’s Nathan’s 40th birthday!

Nathan is the most amazing, awesome brother. Okay, so yes, I have four others besides him, and I’m not picking favorites here, because they all have great qualities, but I think there’s something special about the oldest brother. The oldest Maxwell guy created many incredible, happy memories with his siblings: giving me driving practice, all casually leaned back in his seat, building model airplanes with Joseph in the basement, putting the little girls (Anna and Mary) to bed on Sunday nights, taking Mary to build-a-bear, etc.

It’s so awesome to see him invest in his own family. Nathan’s an incredible dad and husband: from bringing home pizza for dinner “just because,” to taking one of his girls to work, to making pancakes on Saturday mornings, to raising chickens with his little girl, to craft projects on Sunday afternoons, to taking Melanie for a special get-away as they prepare for a school year–and the list could go on.

Operation Christmas Child: Here We Come!

Happy December y’all! We just completed a very full week, and I’m happy to be in the car and on our way to Denver. Yep. Plans changed a bit, and I’m taking Mom’s place. Anna, Mary, and I will be volunteering some this week at Operation Christmas Child. We’ll be sure to share about our time along with pictures.

We now have the revised Managers of Their Homes in stock! It’s exciting to be filling orders and shipping books across the nation, to long-time customers and new ones alike. Orders will continue to ship even though part of us are away.

Love,
Sarah

Dinner and Handel’s Messiah

Friday night, our immediate family plus Joseph and Elissa had a delightful evening out. We went to dinner first, which was a sweet time of fellowship and great food. Christmas is a special time of year, and these outings make it even sweeter.

George Frideric Handel’s Messiah is amazing! We sat in awe as we listened to Scripture woven so masterfully into beautiful pieces of music. The four lead singers did an amazing job of expression and emotion as they sang. The Hallelujah chorus was my favorite part. Our King is so worthy to be praised! I honestly can’t imagine how much work those in the choir put into the music: thank you all!
