Freedom is Not Free

Today I’m grateful for those who gave┬átheir lives for our freedom. Think of that: their lives for our freedom.

Please take a moment to pray for those families who have lost a loved one while serving in the military. They did that for our sake!

In the pictures below, you’ll see Abby and Bethany holding a folded flag. This is very special, as it was the flag given to my grandma at my grandpa’s funeral two years ago. Grandad was a purple heart veteran serving in Vietnam. In fact, after he was wounded, one of the helicopters coming in to rescue him was shot down, and all on board gave their lives in an attempt to help Grandad.

Thank you is all I can say.

Love,
Sarah

  1. Wonderful post and important reminder of those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Sweet photos of the children with the flag.
May God watch over our Military as they serve our great country.
    Love, Mrs. Patti

  2. It is an awesome and yet overwhelming feeling to know that to gain freedom, someone gave their life for us – not once but twice. Those who gave up their lives in this country… and one who became sin and gave his life for us. This life we lead would not be the same, nor would we have eternal hope. Words can never be adequate to express gratitude for either. I am truly humbled.
