This afternoon, four of us had the privilege to attend a Senator Cruz rally! We only heard about it last night, and we were thrilled with the opportunity to go hear Senator Cruz in person. It was wonderful to be a part of a large gathering in the Kansas City, Missouri area. Those of you who are in Missouri, please vote for Cruz on Tuesday! We’ve already voted here in Kansas!
We all enjoyed listening to Senator Cruz share today. He truly is amazing! He’s solid, genuine, and would make a phenomenal president. Please join us in prayer for our nation. We need a godly president!
“Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.” 1 Peter 2:17
My sisters had the sweet idea that all the married couples go out for dinner and then we’d watch the little ones. Everyone was in agreement, so they set the date for Friday evening, March 4th. I really think it’s so thoughtful of the girls to bless the young families with child care that evening.
An excited group of 7 children, 7 and under came to Grandpa and Grandma’s house (minus the grandparent part!) that night, and Anna and Mary had special plans. First, we took a walk, stopping to play on a play set the kids love.
Next, we had a special dinner which was very kid-friendly: homemade macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, mixed veggies, and Golden Oreos.
Next, time for reading and playing followed by Bible time.
Now, here are the photos from the couples’ night out.
“Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.” Exodus 25:2
We had the privilege yesterday, Saturday, March 5th, of voting in our local Republican Caucus. Last year, our legislature changed the law to permanently eliminate primaries and go with caucuses, so this was our first caucus, and wow, what a great experience!
All of the Maxwells who are voting age went at some time between 10 and 2, and we all enjoyed the festive atmosphere. Getting to cast one’s vote is an exciting thing!
Ellie came along with us, and she was a definite attraction. One guy even said we should name her the caucus dog.
For those who have a primary or caucus coming up, please, we implore you, that “we the people” must cast our votes. We strongly believe in casting a vote that counts. This race is extremely close, and we know, from the Republican options, there are really only two top runners. Who would you rather have? If you cast a vote for someone other than Senator Cruz, it’s essentially casting a vote for Trump, since the other runner ups do not appear to have a chance.
The state of our nation is very tentative, and we believe Senator Cruz would be a great president. Please, don’t let anything stand in the way of getting out there and voting for Cruz! This election is crucial for the sake of our freedom and raising children in the way of the Lord.
“Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme.” 1 Peter 2:13
My puppy is growing so fast! I can still hold her, but it’s getting harder.
Mom taught Ellie how to play fetch. Way to go, Mom!
This week, Ellie met Sophie. It’s safe to say that Ellie clearly prefers people over animals. She almost climbed over my shoulder, but then she settled down. In fact, as we patiently worked with her, she began to tolerate Sophie, especially if Sophie was distracted with Mary and her treat bag! We’ll be visiting Sophie more, and pretty soon, they’ll be good friends.
Watch for a post soon with something special the entire family is doing tonight!
