An All-Maxwell Event

My sisters had the sweet idea that all the married couples go out for dinner and then we’d watch the little ones. Everyone was in agreement, so they set the date for Friday evening, March 4th. I really think it’s so thoughtful of the girls to bless the young families with child care that evening.

An excited group of 7 children, 7 and under came to Grandpa and Grandma’s house (minus the grandparent part!) that night, and Anna and Mary had special plans. First, we took a walk, stopping to play on a play set the kids love.

What a great group! I'm telling you, Aunt Anna and Aunt Mary do an awesome job with the kids.

Next, we had a special dinner which was very kid-friendly: homemade macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, mixed veggies, and Golden Oreos.

One of my brothers had the great idea for Abby to read to the littles while we cleaned up dinner.

Next, time for reading and playing followed by Bible time.

  1. What a wonderful idea! Looks like cousins loved it and married couples had a nice break for a few hours that I am sure they deserved it. You are lucky to have family around. Really like the Bible time photo of all the little ones. Thank you for this lovely post and photos.

  2. Such a wonderful idea, and how sweet of the aunts to do that! 🙂 Loved all the photos – – the Maxwells are a blessing. This post made me smile!
    Love, Mrs. Patti

  3. Hey, we have the same stroller as you’re using in that top picture! Got it nine years ago and it is still going strong despite our rough use. I’m sure y’all have/will have plenty of nice memories with yours as well.

I enjoy seeing the extended family all pitching in to help the young parents, what a blessing that must be for all.
