We had the privilege yesterday, Saturday, March 5th, of voting in our local Republican Caucus. Last year, our legislature changed the law to permanently eliminate primaries and go with caucuses, so this was our first caucus, and wow, what a great experience!
All of the Maxwells who are voting age went at some time between 10 and 2, and we all enjoyed the festive atmosphere. Getting to cast one’s vote is an exciting thing!
Ellie came along with us, and she was a definite attraction. One guy even said we should name her the caucus dog.
For those who have a primary or caucus coming up, please, we implore you, that “we the people” must cast our votes. We strongly believe in casting a vote that counts. This race is extremely close, and we know, from the Republican options, there are really only two top runners. Who would you rather have? If you cast a vote for someone other than Senator Cruz, it’s essentially casting a vote for Trump, since the other runner ups do not appear to have a chance.
The state of our nation is very tentative, and we believe Senator Cruz would be a great president. Please, don’t let anything stand in the way of getting out there and voting for Cruz! This election is crucial for the sake of our freedom and raising children in the way of the Lord.
Love,
Sarah

Abbie,
I’m glad to hear you’re volunteering for Senator Cruz. That’s awesome! Yes, Kansas was a pretty amazing win. 😉
Our family agrees with you about the importance of this election. We voted for Senator Ted Cruz also. He has been outstanding as our state senator from Texas! Electing him as our next president is crucial for our country. He is for all of us and stands by his word and promises.
Exciting times! There is so much need for God’s people to be in perpetual prayer over this election!

Hi! Just ran across your blog this evening and I enjoyed reading. 🙂
It is encouraging to see Christians being involved in this election.
Hope you all have a great week!

Totally agree! I was so disappointed when Trump won SC. What a disgrace! I pray that the rest of the states will go Cruz.
I was pretty disappointed in the pool of candidates for this election.
We live in the UK and I’ve been watching the US elections with interest. Just Cannot understand how Trump has managed to get such a following. Truely a dangerous man. I guess the Lord has blinded the eyes of those who have turned their backs on Him. Both your nation and those of us who live in Europe are ripe for Judgment, I fear. Our hope is in God’s mercy. Praying for you in the coming weeks. Clara
Yay!!! So glad to see this!!! My family and I have poured a lot of prayer and volunteer work into Senator Cruz’s campaign and it is so wonderful that you all voted for him!!! Thanks for doing this post to encourage others, too. We are so thrilled that Kansas chose Cruz…way to go! Y’all are a blessing!! 😉 Praise the Lord 🙂
Both me and my husband voted for Senator Cruz! So proud that he won in our home state of Texas! I love your blog and have been reading it for a few years now. You have such a precious family!
I agree. Here in Georgia we had “Super Tuesday” primary voting on March 1, and I cast my vote for Cruz. I’m praying our country will turn back to the values it was founded on, and the Lord will bless our great nation.

II Chronicles 7:14
I am glad so many of God’s people vote, and looking for a what they perceive as God’s choice. But don’t get the idea that our country is in trouble because we have chosen the wrong men for government offices. God does the choosing! We are called to follow Christ and spread the gospel, not morality. Morality comes to a country as a result of God’s people abiding in Him and HIs Word. The USA is suffering blindness in the “Christian churches” and among unbelievers because we are embracing paganism and false teaching, and it will continue until we repent, in the church!
