12 Voices of Christmas Evening

Last week, we went on a special 12 Voices of Christmas outing. It worked out for Christopher and Joseph’s families to join us, along with GiGi. We first ate dinner and then went to Union Station in downtown Kansas City and walked around. They have a neat mini train display right now. We listened to the 12 Voices of Christmas when we were driving. It was a wonderful way to spend the evening!

A Snow Walk

Joshua, Liddy, and Ruthie enjoyed a wagon ride in the snow. The sled runners help the wagon to glide over the snow (well, at least if you keep moving they do!).

Maxwell Carolers | “I’m Going to Have to Get a Bigger Porch!”

“I’m going to have to get a bigger porch!” Yes, that was one of the exclamations we heard when our group of 21 showed up. One person even said, “You’ve got new singers!” It’s true. Our group grew again this year.

We caroled Sunday the 20th, and although we would have loved snow, the mild temperatures made for less bundling and the ability to keep the littles extra warm.

We had a great time sharing Christmas joy with our neighbors. In all, we clocked about 2.4 miles and around 30 homes.

I’ll share about the caroling party we had one week later.

Fresh Baked Cinnamon Rolls

We wanted to give something that would be really special to our elderly friends for Christmas. We know the ladies don’t do much in the kitchen anymore, so Anna and Mary decided to make cinnamon rolls. Saturday evening, the girls began the process, staying up late to allow the rolls time to rise. Then, the next morning, they baked them, and with Mom’s help, they were a great team finishing the process.

Sunday, after church, Anna, Mary, Abby, Betsy, and Tina handed out the rolls. Wow! Our friends were delighted!

Love,
Sarah
