My Best Friend

I love to do things with my best friend—my husband! One of those special activities that we enjoy is walking together. Not only are we getting exercise, but we talk. Often it is hard for a husband and wife to have uninterrupted conversations in a large, busy family. Walking enables Steve and me to spend time together and hear what is on each of our hearts. Usually we walk early in the morning, but last winter for the first time, we took an afternoon break to get out when it is a bit warmer and the sun might be shining. I thank the Lord every day for the 41 years He has given me with my best friend!

Trusting in Jesus,

“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother,
and shall be joined unto his wife, and
they two shall be one flesh.”
Ephesians 5:31

  1. Beautiful place to walk. Yes, it is very difficult for parents to find time away from the little ones to have conversation.
Thank you for another encouraging post.

  2. That’s awesome! My mom and dad try to walk a mile every day in the morning; they use this time to talk with each other, as well as to get some good exercise! 😉

  3. The timing of this post is extremely encouraging to me! My husband is retiring, and today is actually his last day of work. I admit I’ve been a little anxious and concerned wondering what it’s going to be like having him home all the time after all these years. I am praying for the Lord’s provision and guidance for us through this next chapter of our lives. Seeing you and your husband walking together makes me think of all the little things we’ll be able to enjoy together now that our lives will be less stressful and hectic. Thank you for sharing! I

  4. Beautiful example for a Godly marriage! This made me smile! Eagerly awaiting my best friend to return from his deployment so we can resume our walks!
So sorry about the separation. Military moms have it so tough.
    Bless you.
