Random from Our Drive and Time Here

We decided to make the drive all in one day, and we arrived at our cabin around 6:30 Saturday evening.

I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to be in the mountains. Every where you look you see amazing signs of God’s Creation. It’s a beautiful, incredible, gorgeous place.

This morning, Anna had a bit of excitement. She and I had hiked up a little past our cabin to have our time in God’s Word. The sunrise was lovely as the water droplets sparkled on the grass. Hummingbirds buzzed (or dived?!) around, squirrels chattered, and–wait. I have to tell you what happened. Anna heard the squirrels making quite a noise, which was a little unusual. She got up to see if she could see something, and suddenly, right near her, a black bear hurried by. Anna came up the trail and calmly told me she’d just seen a bear. I thought she was teasing she was so calm, but it was true! Wow! Since he’d surprised her and was running fast, Anna didn’t have time to grab a picture.

Lord willing, we plan to hike a 14er on Mom’s 60th birthday tomorrow. Yay!

Love,
Sarah

  1. I’m so glad that you all are enjoying your Colorado trip. Thank you for sharing these photos – – especially the precious cat – – how sweet! (Yes, I love cats) 🙂
May you continue to enjoy the beauty of God’s creation while you’re in Colorado.
    Love, Mrs. Patti

  2. Glad that you made it there safely! Looks like you’re having a great time! Can’t wait to see what the rest of your Colorado trip looks like. Have a blessed time.

  3. I love seeing animals in the wild. Not sure I would have been calm about the bear though. That’s a wonderful way to have time in the word though.

Per Sarah’s recommendation I got a DSLR a year or so back. Still mostly using iPhone though. Maybe someone would like to do an itonramp class to help us beginners.

    Beautiful scenery!
    Blessings
