We decided to make the drive all in one day, and we arrived at our cabin around 6:30 Saturday evening.
I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to be in the mountains. Every where you look you see amazing signs of God’s Creation. It’s a beautiful, incredible, gorgeous place.
This morning, Anna had a bit of excitement. She and I had hiked up a little past our cabin to have our time in God’s Word. The sunrise was lovely as the water droplets sparkled on the grass. Hummingbirds buzzed (or dived?!) around, squirrels chattered, and–wait. I have to tell you what happened. Anna heard the squirrels making quite a noise, which was a little unusual. She got up to see if she could see something, and suddenly, right near her, a black bear hurried by. Anna came up the trail and calmly told me she’d just seen a bear. I thought she was teasing she was so calm, but it was true! Wow! Since he’d surprised her and was running fast, Anna didn’t have time to grab a picture.
Lord willing, we plan to hike a 14er on Mom’s 60th birthday tomorrow. Yay!
