Excitement Abounds: Can You Guess?

I’ll give you a hint. We surprised a certain person this morning with the news.

Come one, come all. Let the guessing begin!

Love,
Sarah

Friday morning update: You all are great guessers, and the guesses are accurate, but we have another piece of the puzzle that’s not being put in quite right. I’d like a specific — it’s the real reason for this trip. Keep at it. Someone is going to nail this, I know!

Friday afternoon update: Congratulations, Daybreaking, you guessed it. Read her comment to see what the answer is.

  1. This is too fun to pass up! Granola, s’more ingredients?, birthday decorations? I’m guessing Teri was surprised by a Colorado trip for her birthday! I’m looking forward to seeing if I was even close… ????

  2. I will guess that you are preparing to leave on your yearly vacation to Colorado? If not this, I have no idea.

    Blessings, Mrs. Mari

  3. This is a tough one and I may be way off, but since I think Mrs. Maxwell’s birthday is around this time, is it a surprise family trip somewhere? I’m thinking campfires and S’mores because of the Hershey bars and marshmallows. And are the girls in the kitchen getting ready to prepare some treats? You really have us guessing with this one. I’ll be anxious to hear what it really is! Whatever it is, I know it will be a fun family time!

  4. When I saw the bags of granola, I thought of pictures of Abby feeding the chipmunks. Was that in Colorado? Whatever it is, it looks like fun, and I hope you have a wonderful time together!

  5. Hmmm … maybe going to Colorado to celebrate Teri’s 60th birthday?

The correct answer is Yes, a surprise 60th birthday for Teri. We didn’t make the decision until a bit over a week ago.

  6. Reason for the trip: Celebration for the final culmination of the last of the homeschooling days?

  7. (Okay, first I have to say that granola looks awesome — I’m all about the food first, you know!). Okay, so a surprise for Teri and trip to Colorado even though you weren’t planning to go this year. And then maybe being joined by another family you haven’t seen for a long time (maybe from your days living in the PNW?)? C’mon, give us a hint!!! 🙂

  8. I think it is a combination of Mrs Maxwell’s birthday, Miss Mary’s 19th birthday, and 30 years of Homeschool!

  9. We are guessing that…yes there’s a trip, could be Colorado….but there is some sort of courtship, or engagement…something to do with hearts! 🙂
looking forward to hearing as we are always excited for exciting announcements!
Blessings & Prayers to your family from ours!
    Blessings~

  10. Isn’t Steve and Teri’s anniversary coming up and Teri’s birthday? Family trip to Colorado for their anniversary and birthday.

  11. Teri’s “retirement” from homeschooling? New school year will start soon, everyone has graduated, and now there is time for new adventures.

  12. Oh dear…. I know this might sound kinda crazy,:? but the first thought that came to mind was that either someone is getting married, getting engaged, or courting. Other guesses are going camping, going on a trip, celebrating a birthday??? Who knows!! I’m excited to find out – keep us posted!!!!! 😀

  13. Just wonder if geo-cacheing is allowed in the mountains? Do ya’ll ever do this? We love to leave dog tags with scripture. Just a little way of witnessing.
    Colorado sounds wonderful right now!!
Hope the whole family will be going. Will be waiting for updates with pics. Always love seeing pics of the mountains.
    Happy Birthday Teri !!

No we have never done that. Thank you.

  14. In your pictures of the totes packed in the truck bed, it appears there is plastic under the lids. Is there a particular reason for this? Always looking for packing tips. 😉 Thanks! Happy Birthday, Mrs. Maxwell!
