Blessing Elissa and Baby

One of our sweet neighbors, who also came to Joseph and Elissa’s wedding, wanted to throw a baby shower for Elissa.

Mrs. K (the neighbor) and Mom planned the event and enjoyed working together. Anna and Mary helped with invitations, food, and decorating.

The almost-four hour shower was full of joy. We had a special devotion by Mom; Elissa’s mom shared funny moments from E’s childhood; we played three games; we fellowshipped; we ate; and Elissa opened gifts. Whew!

Babies are such a joy, and it was exciting to welcome this little one to Joseph and Elissa’s family!

Love,
Sarah

This game involved dividing into two teams. You had to hold the baby doll, talk on the phone, and pin clothes onto the line.
This game involved two teams. You had to hold the baby doll, talk on the phone, and pin clothes onto the line. The next person didn’t have to pin them on but rather take them off. Whichever team got done first, won. It was quite a loud game, with lots of cheering going on.
Even Bethany and Tina helped. They worked together as one person. Anna gave one the phone and the other the baby. So cute.

“Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer,
and he that formed thee from the womb,
I am the LORD that maketh all things;
that stretcheth forth the heavens alone;
that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself.”

  1. What a delightful time you had! I enjoy seeing your pictures. I have never seen the game with the clothes line before but that looks like fun. I especially like the one where Abby is “multi-tasking” hanging up clothes while holding her baby AND talking on the phone! The little ones are so cute and soon Elissa will have her own little one. The watermelon and fruit stroller is very creative and looks delicious. Blessings to you!

  2. Elissa is just beautiful and looks so happy! Thank you for sharing the photos of this happy time with us! I will continue to pray for Elissa and the baby.

  3. What a beautiful post!! So many cute pics. I love baby showers.
    I’m impressed that Abby knits. That is awesome!!
    We played the multitasking game at my last shower 10 years ago with the doll, phone and clothes line. Amazingly enough my 17 year old SON won the game!! Haha!!
    So excited to see if you get a little girl or boy added to the family!

    Blessings

  4. Elissa IS a beautiful expectant mama! What a fun, blessed time. I’m so happy for you all! May I ask about A, B & C’s dresses? Adorable! Homemade or purchased? It’s hard to find dresses like that… ????
    Much love to you all!

  5. Elissa looks radiant. From the pictures everyone looks to be having a fun time. I remember well the expectation of my babies, and know that Elissa is enjoying every minute of this time.

  6. What a great party! I love the picture of the mothers praying with Elissa. The fruit basket is amazing, and the little girls’ matching dresses are so cute. I have two little girls and it so fun to dress them to match (especially in homemade clothes!).

  7. I really enjoyed viewing these photos! Looks like such a fun, special time. I will continuing praying for Elissa and Baby as delivery draws nearer. ๐Ÿ™‚
