Some Pictures from Lydia Maxwell’s Newborn Photo Session

The Saturday after Lydia was born, Christopher transformed their living room into a photo studio of sorts. I thought you might enjoy a peek at some pictures we took. Lydia was so good!

This is our standard Christopher Maxwell family baby photo, but it’s interestingly hard to get.

“And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple,
of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us:
whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended
unto the things which were spoken of Paul.”

An Update on John Maxwell’s Trip

John’s trip is going well. John loves the villagers, and they love him. When he arrived, the head man bought him a cold 7 Up. John said that was the best 7 Up he has had in his life. Even with what little they have, they are eager to give.

Here in the US we are so spoiled. We complain about the AC not working. They don’t have AC and don’t complain when the fan doesn’t work.

So far, John has not gotten sick, and we are praying he doesn’t. Foreign food can be an adjustment, and he doesn’t want to miss any time in country.

Thanks for praying for him!

Joseph and Elissa Maxwell, An Update

Hello friends,

Seven months and six days ago, Elissa and I were happily married. Since then, we have greatly enjoyed setting up our new home. Between my work and Elissa’s upkeep around the home, the time has flown by. Our favorite time of the day is when we relax on our living room couch and open God’s Word. It is exciting to see how our love has grown over these past months as we draw closer to each other and to the Lord.

You probably wanted to know all of that information. Well, the reason for this blog post is to answer the question that you wanted to ask: we are expecting a child in October and are very excited about it. We believe that children are a blessing from the Lord, and we couldn’t be more overjoyed to welcome this little one into our family, and as many more as the Lord chooses to give us.

We covet your prayers as we travel this new (for us) and amazing journey. Elissa is now over the worst of her morning sickness, which is a blessing.

In Christ Jesus,
Joseph and Elissa

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,
an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew
forth the praises of him who hath called you out
of darkness into his marvellous light.”
1 Peter 2:9

John Goes International

John is leaving the country to visit friends who teach English as a second language. Please pray for travel safety and for adjustments as he adapts to life in a different culture. We’ll be sharing his adventures through pictures on the blog, so keep an eye for updates over the coming weeks!
