An Update on John Maxwell’s Trip

John’s trip is going well. John loves the villagers, and they love him. When he arrived, the head man bought him a cold 7 Up. John said that was the best 7 Up he has had in his life. Even with what little they have, they are eager to give.

Here in the US we are so spoiled. We complain about the AC not working. They don’t have AC and don’t complain when the fan doesn’t work.

So far, John has not gotten sick, and we are praying he doesn’t. Foreign food can be an adjustment, and he doesn’t want to miss any time in country.

Thanks for praying for him!

  1. Aww, those ducklings are sooo cute! 🙂 Thanks for the update. Will continue to pray!

  2. Can’t wait to hear more about this trip! Still trying to figure out where he might be and what his work is there! Thanks for keeping us apprised — sending prayers for his safety and health!

  3. Indeed, we often get annoyed when things don’t go the way we want them to go. Whenever I feel like complaining, I remind myself of the verse Ephesians 4:29…
Thank you for the update. Will continue to pray.

  4. Thank you for the updates. We love to hear about this new adventure for John. We pray he will continue to have good health. We definitely can relate to everything posted. For us, it was Coke. That was the best Coke we have ever tasted. The people we encounter have nothing (in our eyes) but yet they invite us in and give what they have. It is very humbling. Another thing, they are generally happy and most of the prayer requests were/are to praise God for who he is and what they have. Truly, we are the ones blessed by meeting these people. May God continue to guide and work in John’s heart and life while there.

  5. Fun update! Thank you for sharing! Our trips to Guatemala to adopt Colby brought us face to face with the realities of our spoiled living here in the US. May we never forget how blessed we are.
