Our New Barber and Hair Stylist

Dad has cut the boys’ hair for as long as I can remember, but just recently a new barber and hair stylist stepped onto the kitchen floor (the place where haircuts take place in our home). Mary is the newbie and has done amazingly well. She started by watching as Dad cut hair, but very quickly Mary was ready to jump in with the clippers and give it a try, under Dad’s tutelage. The guys were just fine to let her experiment and learn on their hair, but I can testify that they didn’t have one bad haircut! At this point, Mary is totally independent in her haircutting. Now even Dad doesn’t have  go out to a barber but is able to stay at home and get great haircuts from Mary. Good work, Mary!

Serving Jesus,
Anna

  1. What a great job Mary does with guys hair. I know it’s not easy because short haircuts and hairstyles require precision cutting and attention to detail. So good work Mary!

  2. Well done Mary! My husband cuts boys hair. He just sit them down on the chair, put a cape on them and have our very own barber shop for free 🙂

  3. Looks like Mary does a great job. My daughter is the official haircutter in our house, she loves precision work. Blessings

  4. My mom used to cut all of my brother’s hair and I eventually learned too. The only thing I failed to learn from mom was how to nip their ears. 🙂 She did that well! HAHA! Looks like you have it down well, Mary! 🙂

  5. Good job Mary!! I learned to cut my brother’s hair the same way, although I don’t cut my dad’s hair yet. 🙂

    It’ll come with time!

  6. What a blessed and useful talent to have Mary!

I too cut all of our family members hair. It saves a fortune!

    Keep up the good work!

  7. Congratulations Mary 🙂 I cut my Dad’s and brothers hair every week or so. It sure is a great money saver!

  8. Great job Mary! I too cut my boys hair but I’m not up to your standard with short hair just yet. Do you do your sisters hair too?

She’s starting to! 😉 She has cut mine (Sarah) and does an excellent job.

  9. Great job, Mary! That was my job when I lived at home and now I save my husband’s money by cutting his hair.

  10. I grew up always going somewhere to get a haircut. As a mother, I have learned to cut my girls’ hair. It is not only a money saver, but it is a time saver too! Now that we have a boy, I have a new skill to learn.

    Good job Mary!

  11. Good for you, Mary! My sister Abby has taken over cutting my brothers’ hair (my dad did it before her) and it has saved a lot of money that would have been spent at barber shops over the years. 😉
Do you trim girls’ hair as well?

  12. if you cut hair in the bathroom it’s easier to clean up or outside and the birds can use your hair to soften their nests!

Actually, for us, in the kitchen we have lots of light, lots of room, any hair, (usually not much) that doesn’t land on the sheet that is down, but on the tile is easy to vacuum, and then the sheet is shaken outside and the birds in our neighborhood have had nice warm, comfy nests, due to the years of Maxwell hair. 🙂
