Recently, we had the joy of seeing three young ladies in our church baptized. We invited friends and family to join us, and it was a delight to witness these three girls’ hearts for Jesus. All three young ladies had placed their faith in Jesus. These girls were “not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord” (2 Timothy 1:8) and declared to others they belonged to Jesus!
Prior to the baptism, we sang three songs picked by the girls. Next Dad preached, and then Joseph, Anna, Jesse, and Mary sang Holy, Holy, Holy. It was a perfect way to prepare for such a special moment. Nathan baptized Abby, and after that Bethany. The other dad baptized his daughter.
Afterward, almost everyone went out for a treat at a frozen custard place. It was a great way to fellowship and end the evening.
Love,
Sarah

Afterward, we fellowshipped.
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death:
that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by
the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk
in newness of life.”
Romans 6:4
Awww “A” has on her scarf!! Rejoicing with you family for the girls baptisms!

Praise the Lord. 🙂 What joy!
Congratulations to the girls and how special that they got to be baptized by their dad!
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved.
How exciting for your family! Can’t wait to see Abby and Bethany’s walk with God!
“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him.”
It’s a wonderful thing to follow the Lord! What a special day for your family. Were Christopher and Anna Marie also there?

They wanted to be, but they were recovering from a stomach virus. They watched via FaceTime.
Congratulations to A and B. Good job being brave enough to go under water 🙂 My 8 years old twins had placed their faith in Jesus last week! I hope my other 4 children will also follow His path.

That’s exciting with your twins! Congratulations.
Congratulations!
I have a couple of questions:
1. What is the significance of baptism by full immersion – my church just puts a cross on your forehead with the water.
2. Did you switch churches? I thought you worshipped with the elderly in a nursing home.
God bless

Hi Sally,
1. The short version: 1 (bapto); to make whelmed (i.e. fully wet); Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.

It is the picture of the death and burial of the old sinful self, and being raised to a new life in Christ. “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:3-4). Also in John 3:23 we are told that John was baptizing where there was much water. If you are immersing, you need much water. “And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized” (John 3:23).
2. Our church still meets in an assisted living home, but another church lets us use their baptistry.
Blessings,
Steve

We rejoice with you for the girls baptism!
Congratulations to the girlies!! What a tribute to the way Nathan and Melanie are raising them. Our new minister has started encouraging parents to baptize their children at our church, and it is just precious.
Such a very special day for you all! My whole family loved this post, we just wish there would be more photos 🙂
Blessings,

Such a special time for these precious girls.
My family (husband, 3 children, and myself) were all baptized together in February 1998, and it was such a blessed time for us.
Thank you for sharing these photos. 🙂
