A Maxwell Guy Work Party

A week ago Thursday, the guys had a sheetrock party in Joseph’s basement. Here’s how it went: (a) Joseph invited his brothers and Dad; (b) they accepted his invitation; (c) they showed up at varying intervals based on their work commitments on the specified evening; (d) the work commenced; (e) fellowship ensued; (f) pizza arrived; (g) and the job was finished.

Over the past seven years, the guys have done a lot of sheet-rocking between our house, Joseph’s, and Nathan’s. Many hands make the project go quickly! I stopped in for pictures and enjoyed seeing them all working together. I’m amazed at the guys’ perseverance as they hit hard issues, step back, re-evaluate, and keep going.

I hope this is a little encouragement for you to tackle a work project with your family. Happy February 1st!

Love,
Sarah

The little girls stopped in with Melanie, and they enjoyed some Oreos and the opportunity to write on the sheetrock.

  1. Thanks for keeping us updated. I always enjoy the posts on Joseph’s house.

I can’t wait to show you what the finished product looks like ;).

  2. Yep. Did a little work today on a back room turning it back into the music studio. No sheet rocking though. Just rearranging and moving furniture and instruments. No pizza or Oreos either! Why didn’t I think of that. Looks like it must be pretty cold since the littles are really bundled up. I know Joseph will be glad to get his basement finished. That adds a lot of room to a house. Thanks for the post. Always enjoy seeing what you all are up to.

Good for you! Those re-arranging and organizing projects can be hard to get to. Try chocolate for motivation next time (smile).

  3. What a wonderful way to turn a big job into a fun time of fellowship and food! 🙂 The Maxwell family is such an inspiration to so many – – thank you.
I enjoyed the photos too – – those little girls are so precious.

    Thanks for your sweet comments!

  4. What a blessing to know how to do that kind of thing and saving money not having to hire it out. That room with the fire place is going to be so cozy — the brick work is lovely. Did Joseph gut the basement or has it always been unfinished? Great work, guys! Can’t wait to see the finished product!

He gutted it to start over.

  5. Always interesting to see what homes in other parts of the U.S. look like. Never seen a basement in Southern CA. Can’t wait to see the finished pictures.

  6. I like E),F) and G) best. Lol 😉 great job guys! Can’t wait to see the big reveal. Maybe a house tour?
