Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit: A Special Evening

I realized I haven’t told you all about our ladies’ meeting that happened January 12th. So let’s back up about two weeks. It was a cold, January day, and we were excited to be able to share with ladies in our general area. Dad and Jesse came along (John had a business commitment) to help us with set up and sound items.

A few months ago, Angela contacted us about the possibility of Mom speaking for her homeschool group. She had heard Mom give Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit about 8 years ago, and being new with homeschooling, it had been a huge encouragement to her to keep on. Now, she wanted to share that with the ladies in her group. Little did she realize what a rippling effect this would have. What started with the influence on her life 8 years prior would now reach over one hundred ladies that evening–a hundred-fold blessing!

Homeschool moms are a special group. They pour their lives into their children, giving them everything they have. They desire to raise men and women of God. As everyone knows, though, being a mother brings its challenges, but being a homeschool mom adds an entirely different dimension to it. Mom gave them hope, sharing what the Lord did in her life through the years. Ladies loved it!

Love,
Sarah

  1. How exciting! Living in Mexico makes the possibility of watching a webcast of one of your sessions that much more special to me. What a great idea for those who may be unable to attend any other way!

  2. Please have the webinar at a time that is also convenient for us on the West Coast. I am a special
Education teacher in a public school and am very interested in the subject of homeschooling. Thank you!! I really enjoy your blog.

  3. I cannot wait to hear more about the webcast! That is super exciting news. I too, have been so blessed by the book and study guide. I have read it 3 times over the years, have tabs all through it and like to know where it is for a quick boost or refocus when I begin to loose sight. The book and so many Titus 2 offerings have been timely and specific answer to prayer. God is good and kind. I am thankful for your familiy’s continued ministry.

  4. This is one of your books that I read each new school year to remind me of truth and encourage me. Thanks for sharing your heart, Teri!

  5. I’m sure all those Moms in attendance were blessed by Teri’s message. Thanks for sharing the photos (love seeing the babies!). 🙂

  6. What a good opportunity for all that cannot attend such an evening in person!
Living in Canada makes it impossible for me. The webcast will be my only chance!

    God bless
    Sally

  7. I am a part of LSHE and was able to attend Teri’s event that evening. I had my baby with me and was in and out due to her being fussy. What I heard Teri say was exactly what I needed to hear! I am currently going through a similar phase of doing “more yelling than smiling” and had been feeling helpless. I’d been praying about it and I feel this evening was the beginning of an answered prayer for me. I picked up several books at the event and have been reading, praying, and working on my own attitude. I think in the last two weeks I’ve only lost control of my emotions once. I believe the Lord is doing a good work in me. I’m so thankful the opportunity to hear Teri share her experience came with such impeccable timing. Thank you for bringing your family to share such a persomal store of God working in your life so we could all be blessed.

My daughter and I had our picture taken with Teri during dinner prior to the event. I would love to get a copy of the picture to post in my house. Every time I see it I would be reminded of the work God did in your home and the work He can do in mine. I would love to have a copy if I can.

    Thanks again for coming!

Thank you for your testimony! Yes, I’ll be happy to e-mail you the picture! I’ll do that soon. 😉

  8. Webcast – wow, interesting! 🙂

When I first started homeschooling, this book was given to me. I have read it several times. It has been a blessing to me.

  9. I have started a 5 session group meeting centered on that book. Please have a back up date (even a recording) so if we can’t make the first date, we can listen in later.
