Drip, Drop, Drip

A dripping sound can be quite an irritant! Proverbs agrees. “A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike” (Proverbs 27:15).

We’ve had a tiny leak in a hot water pipe in the basement ever since we moved in. Every few minutes, drip. To catch the water, we put an inverted CD cover (that goes over a spindle of blank CDs) under it, and conveniently, it would evaporate without having to be emptied. It wasn’t a big deal; it just wasn’t right.

Dad hadn’t fixed it because it would be a very involved project, and the dripping did no damage. He knew if the repair didn’t go well, an 8-hour job could turn into the house having no water overnight. Finally, though, he decided it had to be taken care of, and over the holidays he would have time to tackle it.

Anna volunteered to help as she’s always willing to learn something new. She was a great helper!

To accomplish the plumbing repair, Dad turned the water off to the house, cut the pipes to drain them and finally soldered new fittings. The end result of the day-long project: success! Praise the Lord.

Love,
Sarah
