Seeing God Work

We saw many answers to prayer for the Wichita conference. As it approached, snow was in the forecast. That pretty much went away, and there was only a slight dusting. We prayed for families. God gave us many! We prayed for open hearts. God gave incredible hearts! We prayed that husbands and wives would come together, and they did!

Friday set up went great. It was fun to have Joseph and Elissa with us. Elissa pitched right in and helped with the book tables, while Joseph worked on the music set up. They practiced music, and it seemed like time flew! At 5 p.m., we began with three sessions. Dad did the business session, Mom the Schedule Triage, and I gave the writing session. We all had awesome groups and good interactions.

That evening, it was a treat having Joseph and Elissa join in the music. Elissa played her guitar on several songs, and she and Joseph sang “Channels Only.” We each gave our 5-minute talk about a passion of our heart, and it’s such a joy to share!

Saturday went smoothly. We all enjoyed fellowshipping with the many families who attended. Our hearts are to encourage believers in their walk with the Lord Jesus and their relationships with their families. So many people are hungry for like-hearted fellowship, and we love to be apart of helping them meet each other. God is good! Joseph gave his Who Is Jesus to You? session for young people after lunch.

We are very grateful for each family who came. One came all the way from Minneapolis, MN. We had families attend from all over Kansas, and some from Oklahoma. Thank you all!

A special thank you to our coordinator for all she invested.

Thank You for Praying

John arrived safely last night. We are grateful for your prayers! After he got past the accidents, the drive went well. Although he’d lost many hours in the process, and had to drive into the night, he wasn’t tired, which was a huge blessing since it was only him. Well, in physical presence that is. The Lord was with him!

John’s been our faithful mechanic over the years, and he offered to bring Uriah on his final trip. There were tears from the family as they said good-bye Saturday to Uriah, but we all know the Lord had a purpose in the time we had him.

I’ll share a conference report with pictures later.

to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands,
lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.”

Please Pray for John

Monday morning update— He made it very late last night. Thank you so much for praying.

–6 pm update. He’s driving again, and we’re praying for him as he continues. We’ll see if he can make it all the way tonight to Phoenix. Thank you for continuing to pray!–

Right now, he’s trying to drive Uriah out West, but due to a snow storm, he’s facing challenges. Thankfully he filled up with diesel before the interstate stopped. Please pray for safety as the roads are bad as evidenced by many accidents. He’s now stopped once again, waiting for the interstate to get moving. He’s been in this area for several hours now.

An Awesome Conference

The Lord was so gracious this weekend. I can’t wait to share all about it later. I’ll leave you with a picture for now (thanks, Mr. C!). May you rejoice in Jesus today!

Serving Jesus,

“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard,
that the everlasting God, the Lord,
the Creator of the ends of the earth,
fainteth not, neither is weary?
there is no searching of his understanding.”
Isaiah 40:28

Do You Want to Join My Parents?

When Dad shared that he was going to do a fast with any guy who wanted to join him from his Seriously e-mail list, I thought maybe a handful of dads would want to.  Wow, was I wrong! My guess was left in the dust.

Meanwhile, Mom decided to do the same thing with ladies who also wanted to fast and pray for a day.

This Monday, November 17th, Dad and Mom are coming along side of others who are willing to fast. Their desire is to seek the Lord and pray for those who are facing challenges. If you’d like to join an amazing group of men and women, this is your opportunity.

Sign up for the ladies’ group.

Sign up for the mens’ group.

Sign-ups close on Sunday. After signing up, an e-mail with details is sent.

Just this morning in my Bible time, I was struck by this verse in Ezra.

“So we fasted and besought our God for this:
and he was intreated of us.” Ezra 8:23

There are such sweet benefits of fasting. Will you join them?

Almost Wichita Bound

This weekend, we’ll be in our home state and giving our Energize Conference in Wichita!

Good-bye Uriah.
Good-bye Uriah.

We’re also excited to have Joseph and Elissa join us, and we’ve added Joseph’s Who Is Jesus to You? session for young people (to be decided what time on Saturday). If you’ve thought about coming to an Energize conference, now is your chance. It’d make for an awesome family trip! It’s also bittersweet for us as we say good-bye to Uriah. He’s going to make his final trip to Wichita, and after that, John will be taking him out West to someone who is buying him with the goal of trying to repair him. Some are trying not to think about it much, as we’ve loved Uriah, and he’s truly been our home-away-from-home on the road.

We look forward to what the Lord will do in Wichita this weekend. God is good all the time!

and preach the gospel to every creature.”
