With Thankful Hearts

As it has become a yearly tradition, the Maxwell Family would like to share several things we feel especially blessed with. To give a slightly different twist, though, we’re prefacing it with the top three items we’re ALL thankful for.

Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ
Our Family
God’s Word

Steve (Dad), and Teri (Mom)

  • I’m thankful for our challenges and needs so I can bring them to my Lord and see His hand at work in our lives.
  • I’m thankful for brothers and sisters in Christ that God had allowed us to work alongside and fellowship with.
  • I’m thankful for our church.
  • I’m thankful our nation still protects freedom to worship Jesus Christ.
  • The number eleven (ask Joshua why).

  • God’s faithfulness for 40 years of marriage.
  • God’s grace through 30 years of homeschooling and bringing us to the end.
  • God’s mercy and strength that draws our adult children to walk faithfully with Him.
  • God’s allowing our family to share with others and encourage them in the reality of a walk with Jesus in family life.
  • God’s provision for our family during the 10+ years of Titus2 being our only support.
  • Hiking.

  • Playing music with my siblings I’m grateful for because of all the experiences that come with it.
  • Bethany, my niece, (well, I am super thankful for all of them, but this part is extra sweet!) who wanted to learn to read because she wanted to read the Bible and her mom who is such a good teacher!
  • For a little icing on the cake—cookie dough ;).
  • Polkadots!

  • And for all life’s simple pleasures like baking — especially with a sister.
  • Chocolate!

“I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel:
my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
I have set the LORD always before me:
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth:
my flesh also shall rest in hope.”
Psalms 16:7-9

So, why is the number 11 special? I’m so curious!
Who knows, but saying it will often make Joshua laugh and Grandpa likes to make the little guy laugh.

  5. Happy Thanksgiving to all the Maxwell family!! 🙂
You all are such a blessing to so many (including myself!) and I enjoyed reading your Thankful Lists.
May the Lord continue to pour out His blessings on each of you.

  6. Happy Thanksgiving Maxwells! Liked your lists! Noticed that Jesse commented on being thankful for your church and pastor. Just curious…..is your family not doing the retirement home ministry on Sundays anymore? Maybe one day soon you could do a blog post and catch us up on your church 🙂

  7. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!Your ministry is such a blessing to us.
Photos of each of you are wonderful!
    (1 Chronicles 16:34)

You can probably tell the photos we got in one setting early this month, and then I (Sarah) worked on getting N&Ms and C&As photos ;).

  8. Sorry it’s late Maxwell Family. We were gone. Hope you had a Blessed Thanksgiving!! And thank you again for your ministry. Michelle
That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. Psalm 26:7

    Thanks ;).

  9. Thanks for sharing! Your family is a fine example of what a Godly home is. Also I couldn’t help but notice Anna Marie’s dress, its absolutely beautiful! I wonder did she make it?

No, she didn’t make it. It was purchased.

Thanks. You are a blessing ;).

  11. Aw – I love your lists! I hope y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving together! I’m curious – has Mary already graduated? I don’t remember reading about that on here yet.
Not officially yet, but her work is finished.

  12. Happy Thanksgiving! “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed,
do all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God and the Father by him.”

    Wonderful verse. Thanks!

  13. Beautiful pictures of you all! I especially like Joseph & Elissa’s 😉
Love your lists, also! I agree with Mary – what would we do without chocolate?! 🙂
Praying for you all to continue living for Jesus!

P.S. Does Joshua play harmonica and bass already? 🙂
We are anxiously waiting ourselves. Hard to say what he and his dad are up to. 🙂
