Christian Children’s Books

Almost two weeks ago, Dad and I picked up the new Moody books, along with some other books we reprinted. It is wonderful to finally have Exciting Times and Christmas Comes to Sunflower in hand.

For those who may not know, the Moody Family books are geared toward a 7-13 year old reading comprehension level, but if the books are used as a read aloud, children as young as 3 or 4 understand.

I received a sweet e-mail from a mom yesterday, and then a note on a MOTH registration today.

“I was just going to send you an e-mail to let you know how much my daughter has enjoyed the Moody books. I bought the first one two years ago. My 7 year old daughter loved it, so I bought the rest of the series. She has read the first 8 three times!! She talks about the Moodys like they are friends of hers. “Max did this,” or “Mollie said that.” She has started cooking, cleaning, and wanting to serve people. She gives your books all the credit! I got on your website to get an e-mail address when I saw your new book. I was so excited. Please keep writing! It’s so hard to find wholesome Christian books for my children to read. We will keep buying them if you keep writing! 🙂
We have made the chocolate chip cookies and the fiesta casserole. Great recipes! Thanks for sharing them.” –Leigh

“We LOVE the Moody books! My 3 year old likes to pretend she is Maddie. The Moodys are a beautiful, fictional family that we strive to be like! They even started us having family devotions.” –April

  1. I’m thinking of writing too. But I lose inspiration. How does sarah make her books so interesting and exciting. Sometimes i feel like what I’m writing is a bit boring.
    Thanks in advance

I love to share the session: So You’d Like to Write? at conferences. Perhaps someday I’ll share in a public forum the way the Lord brings the stories together.

  2. I’m so happy you are continuing to write the Moody books. There is such a need now for wholesome books with a Christian worldview, and I am praying these books will find their way into the hands of many, many children. 🙂
    Love, Mrs. Patti

    Thank you!

  3. I couldn’t agree more with the comments. You can not even go to the Christian bookstore and buy books and be confident that there will not be some little something that is slightly inappropriate. I am very disappointed to be reading along with my child and some small little something comes up that just ruins the whole book for us. We don’t have to worry about that with the Moody books. We read the Christmas Ebook last Christmas but went ahead and bought the bound book to go with our set along with the newest addition to the series. I also bought an extra Christmas book for a homeschool family that I recently met to introduce them to the Moody’s. Yes, keep writing and we will keep buying. Thank you Sarah for the incredible service that you give to those of us out here who appreciate what you do. God Bless.

Thanks for the sweet comments. I definitely want to keep writing ;).

  4. Congrats on your new book, Sarah (and it’s cool that you got to go observe the printing process). On a completely off-topic note, however, I love LOVE your purple scarf! Does someone in your family knit or crochet? It’s lovely and I want one! LOL.

Actually, a blog reader made that for me ;). I love it (thanks, Lydia!).

  5. Sweet testimonies! Our family agrees totally that these are the best Christ-honoring children’s book series EVER! THANK YOU for writing them.

  6. I love seeing yall wear your scarves! You are very welcome! I am glad others comment on how lovely they look! Happy Thanksgiving!! 😉
