Joseph and Elissa’s Story: Part 1

It’s amazing how much has transpired in my life over this past year. I marvel at the Lord’s goodness and direction. Saturday, September 6th, I married the love of my life, Elissa. The story begins almost two years ago. In October 2012, I met Elissa through mutual friends we stayed with during a Titus2 fall tour. While there, Elissa spent some time with my sisters but I only interacted with her briefly.

I didn’t think too much about her, but then, the next fall, our family had the opportunity to park our bus at Elissa’s family’s home on a few of our free days since our mutual friends had moved away.

JandE-8As I observed Elissa during that visit and talked with her in a family setting, I began to greatly admire her and what the Lord was doing in her life. I became very interested in her, prayed, fasted, and sought the Lord’s will regarding Elissa as a wife. I prayed some more. After discussing it with my parents, I called her dad and expressed my interest. Our family then invited her family to join us for Thanksgiving.

Part 2 will be coming at some point!

  2. Thanks, Joseph, for sharing the first part of your story! Of course, we are reading it now, but God wrote it for you long ago. We rejoice in God’s gift to you! God’s plans for us are better than our best dreams, aren’t they?! God bless you and Elissa as you begin life as husband and wife!

  3. What a beautiful testimony of how the Lord orchestrates marriages! This is great for young men and women to read and see how the Lord would have couples come together. We enjoyed reading part 1 and are looking forward to part 2.
