A Morning Hike and Chipmunks

Monday morning, some of us left the cabin at 7, so we could do a hike before meeting up with the young families to feed the chipmunks. We hiked to Grizzly Lake, which was a pleasant trek. We didn’t meet a single hiker, until we came to the lake, where we saw campers. It was a gorgeous morning to enjoy God’s creation! We’re so grateful for this time together.

Lord willing, we plan to hike a 14er, tomorrow! I have other pictures to share with you too, but for now, I’ll leave you with these.

Joyfully His,
Sarah

Jesse and Mary had a little contest going about finding two identical rocks. It goes to show how amazing God's creation is when one can't find two rocks just the same!

Those of us who went up to the lake got our picture. Joseph and John had work to do so they stayed back.

We had a picnic at a stream afterward. Those waterproof boots are handy.

  1. Beautiful pictures, Sarah! Love the pics with your parents and their grandchilden-shows how loving and caring they are :). Your skirts are amazing! Are they specially designed for hiking? I have to commend you and your sisters for participating in physical activities in skirts! It just shows that girls CAN do physical things (hiking, exercising, etc) in skirts!

Anna and Mary’s skirts are normal but very full. Mom’s and mine are exercise skirts.

  2. What a wonderful time you all are having!Drew and Ruth are so cute.I enjoyed your lovely pictures very much,so thank you for sharing.

  3. I love to see all the generations together, from wee babes (brand new!), to wise gray-haired grammies. May you treasure your memories of this vacation! It’s nice to have a family photographer! Great job Sarah! And, oh, a fun camera tip I learned from a friend: hold the camera down low, by your knee, for some really interesting perspectives, especially of landscapes, boats, or anything with long lines. Enjoy the day!

  4. Wonderful photos! Miss Ruthanne’s profile looks like her big brother’s in the photo with Aunt Anna and her momma. Joshua’s little boy antics are just precious. The candid shot of Mary and Jesse is awesome…not posed, but you can almost hear her laughter just by looking at it. Andrew is just darling…those cheeks! Hope ya’ll have a wonderful vacation.

    In Christ,

    Lori

  5. I love Drew’s sling! Do the little ones hike with you? I ask because my three year old is really small and struggles to keep up! I have a carrier for her though – good exercise for me and keeps her close by. I was wondering if you have the same for Josh. 🙂

  6. Such beautiful pictures!! I am sure the surroundings are breath taking. How fun Joshua brought his lawn mower along. I bet there is so much for him to “mow”. We enjoy seeing the photos of everyone! Enjoy the wonderful time.

  7. What kind of wrap or sling is Melanie wearing?
Looks like a very special time.
We are planning a vacation to the Smoky Mountains.
    ——
You’ll enjoy the Smokies. The wrap is a Baby K’Tan wrap.
