God is Good … And the Waiting Continues

Things are still in the waiting stage. Yesterday, Nathan and Melanie toured the NICU. Their prayer request is that Baby Max waits to be born until he’s ready to go home, thus skipping a NICU stay.

The doctor and hospital are keeping close tabs on Melanie and the Baby. I guess this little one will have a July birthday. Pretty perfect—Abigail, Bethany, and Christina have birthdays in May, June, and August, so he’ll fit right in there.

Dad and Mom ran errands in Kansas City today, and they brought lunch in to Melanie (Chipotle!). It was a special time. While they were there, Melanie got a delivery of flowers and chocolates :).

Thank you for your prayers! We’re so grateful!

Joyfully His,
Sarah

they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.”

  1. We will keep praying for Melanie and baby. Melanie seems so patient and resigned – what an inspiration! We are glad to hear that for now baby Max is waiting and growing stronger every day. God has the perfect birthday planned!

  2. Miss Melanie looks beautiful! Praying for her and Baby Max. I’ve felt strongly to pray that she can have a natural safe delivery of baby instead of any intervention. I’m not sure why I’ve felt such, but I’ve been following the prompt. 🙂

    Thank you! Melanie is so grateful!

  3. Such a sweet post! 🙂 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Is 40:31

  4. Oh, I hope everything goes well! I’m praying. Btw, I had a dress made of the same material as Bethany’s skirt a few years ago. 😀

  5. A meal, flowers, chocolate, and people to talk with and love on her children… What blessings you all are to each other!

  6. So thankful to hear the good report!! Oh, how true it is—God is so good. His ways are past finding out. The closeness and faith of your family is amazing!! We will keep praying!!

    Thanks for the verse!

  7. One thing I appreciate about Melanie is her cheerfulness in each situation. She is an encouragement to me!

    Yes, she has such a great attitude! It is inspiring.

  8. My sentiments exactly, Amy!

    Continued prayers for Melanie, Sweet Boy, Nathan, and the girls. I also have to acknowledge your verse for today. Isaiah 40:30-31 is my family’s “family verse” and has been for three generations. My dear Auntie (my great-aunt) summed it up when she said that ALL hope is found in Jesus Christ, and it is not a coincidence that verse is in the prophesy of Isaiah. Love you all

    In Christ,

  9. How long will the hospital allow Melanie to wait to deliver? How many weeks does baby Max need to be to not need NICU and be able to go home?

    We are praying for a healthy mom and baby.
    Thinking of you all,
    Alicia and Alanna
