A Neighborly Invitation

Spur-of-the-moment things can be special; and that was the case for Thursday’s invitation to Christopher and Anna Marie’s for dinner.

Who could you bless? Perhaps there’s a new family in your neighborhood, and you could whip up a batch of chocolate chip cookies (our favorite recipe is the Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe from Crisco). Or, you could take a few minutes to catch up with a neighbor on what’s been going on in his or her life.

Acts of kindness show others the love of Jesus.

For those who wonder, these two bibs are a perfect, no, rather, a necessary combination to keep a little one clean. The long-sleeve is from IKEA, and the other is a Baby Bjorn Soft Bib.

Watching Grandpa cutting down the tree! A little boy’s delight.

  1. Everybody needs good neighbors! What a blessing it is when neighbors become good friends!

“And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these” (Mark 12:31).

  2. Thank you Maxwell family for the continuing inspiration.

Neighbors have recently moved onto our street and it was on our hearts to visit them but had not interacted with them yet. My wife will put a batch of chocolate chip cookies in the oven tomorrow, then we might invite them for coffee.

    Thanks and Blessings
    Allen 🙂

  3. I really like this post. What a beautiful baby Ruth is! Joshua looks like a really fun little guy, and Anna Marie looks absolutely fabulous!

  4. One of my favorite parts of your blog are the pictures that you post! It makes me feel like I’m a part of your family. It’s such a blessing to be able to go to your blog and check on “my family”. I love the narrative Sarah (and the others) writes. They are lovely and allow me to check in on “my family”. I love the pictures of y’all so much! I can’t get enough of them! The babies are beautiful and the way you allow us into your lives, is remarkable. It’s a blessing to watch them grow up as well. And, of course, the adults and almost adult children are such an encouragement to me. The parents, well, they are absolutely awesome and have enriched my life in a way that can’t be described. I am so thankful that the Lord led me to y’all.

Thank you very much. We are so glad to know the blog is an encouragement.

  5. Love the photos of little Ruthanne! Keep ’em coming! And Joshua is adorable, too. I’ll bet Christopher and Anna Marie are busy, but hopefully getting some sleep. How nice that they have family nearby to give them a break when/if they need it. Looks like Anna is having fun dressing her little girl!
